Hearn is supposedly meeting boots Ennis and another PBC fighter this week after they are becoming disillusioned with PBC This will be interesting
Boots should fight crawford or Spence who should already have fought esch other years ago.... I hope something good comes out of it.
I don't see why they are upset with pbc. They have been fighting consistently unlike some other guys. And they are paid good
Rumour is boots wasn’t happy he’s fought once in 18 months. Also took him 3 months to get his Clayton purse. the PBC wouldn’t give him a date until Spence va Crawford was official and he feels stalled his career then gave him a d level fight on shirt notice
Does kinda feel like PBCs way of doing business is smothering Boots career in the cot, he looks to be a very good and potentially great fighter, but outside of the US nobody knows who he is (and idk what his status in the US is like, I doubt he's as widely known as his talent suggests he should be) and that is a real tragedy, I know PBC pays big purses for easy fights that are few and far between so to even go meet with another promoter earns my respect as it indicates Boots could be more concerned with legacy than purely money
Im not sure what moving to match room would do for Boots. Even thought they rarely fight, the best WWs are still at PBC. I guess fights against Rocha and Ortiz could be easier to make with DAZN, but otherwise, there isn't much at that weight category for them
I think he petitioned to IBF twice for Spence to be ordered to face him, but was blocked by PBC. He’s right to be frustrated.
Spence moving up or not fighting him. Crawford will follow Spence. Boots will be in a great position and they will pay good money for him plus get him active. Happy to give him 3 fights a year. Matchroom think boots will be the man at welter within 12/18 months, other fights will chase they payday to fight him. At the minute it’s only an initial meeting but it’s big as only 1/2 years ago boots was told to specifically stay away from Hearn
Will be interesting to see what Haymon does if/when boxing gets pulled from Showtime following the Paramount merger. Doesn't sound like Paramount is really all that interested with the status quo.
He’s got an exclusive deal with showtime and isn’t a Al haymon fighter, so it’s probably bull**** but you never know.
I think it's fairly obvious that Edward wants too use Boots as a stepping stone for Young Connor next lol.
