They won't. Read their literature, examine their business model. They are not going to enter tje PPV market.

What may happen is that Hearn signs Wilder for a Breazeale/Whyte warm-up on DAZN, then the first AJ Wilder fight happens on PPV and the second fight in the contract takes place on DAZN. That way Wilder keeps his Showtime connnection happy, revenue for the undisputed fight is maximised and DAZN doesn't trash its business model but still gets to use the big clash to boost subscriptions.

But you're forgetting one big thing here. Wilder doesn't have as much time left in the game as the other two. If he waits until Fury's ESPN deal ends, he'll be finished by then and Fury will be back to Klitschko shape. He stands no chance at that point.

Joshua doesn't need Wilder either. Klitschko, Fury and Usyk can be his defining fights. As for Fury, he doesn't need Wilder. He's already had defining fights against Klitschko and against Wilder.

Their legacies are, along with one or two more big names, locked in for hall of fame material. Wilder's isn't. Ortiz is not a big win, and it wasn't really an impressive win either. He got exposed twice. He still needs to prove himself and he can now only do that if he goes after Joshua or Fury on their respective US platforms. He isn't in control. Joshua and Fury have money. If legacy doesn't come to them, the money is still there as a backup and they can happily fight bums for the rest of their careers like Klitschko did. Wilder doesn't have those guarantees.

Joshua and Fury won't happen until Fury fights at least five more times. Who the hell knows how long it will take Fury to fight five times, especially if he's fighting on the ESPN+ app against guys like Rivas and Pulev.

That could take YEARS. Fury may not even fight five times before falling off the cliff again and taking a couple more years off.

It's going to happen. Depressive people go through highs and lows. He was low. Now he's high again. It's cyclical.

Deontay Wilder is a Hall of Famer now. Name a heavyweight champion with EIGHT OR NINE successful title defenses who ISN'T in the Hall of Fame?

He'll likely have 10 successful defenses (at the least) by the end of 2019.

He's basically a lock already. Maybe not first ballot. But a lock.

Of the three, Wilder has the most freedom and is in the best position moving forward.

Wilder can fight joshua soon while hes in his prime and has a great chance to win, become the top guy in his era and still young enough to reap the benefits of becoming THE man, or he can continue to stack his questionable resume, make 2-3m a fight then cash out against joshua when hes washed up by which point he'll be too old to reap the benefits of beating joshua or worst case scenario he loses and goes down as the most protected paper champ in history. From both a financial and legacy standpoint the time to fight joshua is now.

Joshua hasn't fought Fury and that fight looks like it's never going to happen now, given both the deals they are locked into.

Fury needs someone. Joshua is out. Wilder is all that's left. Unless Fury plans to fight Kubrat Pulev and Oscar Rivas and the like for the next three years. That isn't going to get him anywhere, especially since he JUST WALKED AWAY from a Wilder rematch in May.

The WBC top five is 1. Whyte 2. Fury 3. Ortiz 4. Breazeale 5. Kownacki

Worst case scenario (meaning no Joshua fight) I see Wilder fighting Breazeale and Kownacki (on either national television or Showtime or both) over the summer and ending the year against Whyte on PPV.

Wilder would be favored over all three, but they all put on exciting fights. So Wilder won't be in any boring matches in 2019. I can see him finishing the year at 43-0-1 with 42 kos and 11 successful title defenses.

With the whole WBC top 5 taken care of, he'll be free in 2020 to do what he wants.

If the Wilder and Joshua unification fight doesn't happen by the end of 2020, I don't think it's ever going to happen.

One or both will likely lose to someone.

It's rare when there are two champs in any division, both with more than 10 successful defenses. Somebody usually slips up. We're getting close to that. Wilder will make his ninth defense against Breazeale. Joshua will make his seventh against Miller. By later next year, they'll both be pushing their luck.

Remind me when PBC or ESPN once claimed they are not doing PPV? The business models are not comparable.

Just the other day at the Canelo v Jacobs conference you had DAZN talking about how much that fight would usually cost as it would be PPV.

Whether their price plan changes is something else but the idea they are going to do ppv's has no merit at all.

What? The PBC's whole business model in 2015 and 2016 was free boxing. There are countless threads about that.

So was the ESPN+ app. When it was announced ESPN had signed a deal with Top Rank last August, the official announcement for 54 shows said: The 54 shows a year will involve 18 events on ESPN, 12 exclusive prime-time events on ESPN+, 24 premium international events on ESPN+ and undercard coverage of all 54 events on ESPN+.

Arum was quoted as saying the PPV model is dead. Then Arum announced last month Crawford-Khan ON ESPN PPV!!!!! in April. (LOL)

DAZN launched in the U.S. last year. Their free model is used to get subscribers. Once they have enough of them, they'll have PPVs. Nearly all the big fights on DAZN in the U.S. are already on PPV in the UK.

The PBC held out for three years. Arum held out for roughly eight months (LOL). We'll see how long DAZN holds out. If Wilder-Joshua gets signed, DAZN's "no PPV" will come to a screeching halt the night of that fight.

PBC's model was to buy up TV time to try and then build a star for PPV. That was the plan.

You don't spend money for TV time with no payoff. They simply just blew it when trying to build stars.

You are comparing apples and oranges. Bob Arum is not ESPN. I want quotes from ESPN execs which mention they are anti PPV.

They certainly haven't been as aggressive as DAZN has been when talking about no PPV.

Why are you arguing with me? The OFFICIAL ESPN RELEASE SAYS 54 SHOWS every year ... all 54 shows on ESPN or ESPN+ ... never mentions PPV. Anywhere. NO ESPN boxing press releases discussed having PPV bouts until Crawford-Khan. None. Go check. None. ESPN had Manny Pacquiao and didn't even put him on PPV. And Pacquiao had been on PPV against freaking Algieri.

When they got enough traction (eight months in), they changed it up.

    Don't shoot the messenger.
