This content is protected “The WBO is next [mandatory for Joshua], so it’s all down to what the WBO decide,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “They are going to review it at their convention, which is right at the end of October. “Dillian Whyte is probably the frontrunner right now for the WBO mandatory, and then after that it’s IBF mandatory, which is the winner of Hughie Fury against Pulev. That’s probably not going to come round until the end of 2019.” So Whyte in April 2019, and then winner of Hughie Fury/Pulev in Late 2019. So Wilder in April 2020 then lol?
A unification would take priority over a mandatory so if they wanna do that fight the mandatories shouldn't get in the way. But yeah, this fight or the Fury fight is gonna play out with Floyd/Manny length bull**** ain't it?
Sure, unifications trump mandatories but if Wilder and Fury end up with a rematch and one or two delays, AJ will need to keep occupied waiting for them to finish their business. Could last till 2020 through no fault of Joshua. In fairness, should AJ fight/win against Whyte again, then H Fury in 2019, then fight the winner of Wilder-Fury in 2020, he would arguably have one of the most water-tight records in HW history.
It should be Joshua v Wilder in December. Joshua has to take some of the responsibility for that fight not happening, so now he sits on the sideline and has to wait.
The WBO are on record saying Povetkin was gonna compete as their mandatory to Joshua. Then they bizarrely backtracked. It was clear from that very second what was happening. Hearn had exchanged some brown envelopes so Whyte can be the mandatory for AJ in April. That was always gonna be Joshua's next fight, but now Hearn can spin the mandatory line to try and deter from the fact that it's a pointless rematch.
What happened to the poll they were going to do to see who the fans wanted next. Adam Smith was on sky yesterday saying it's probably whyte next.
AJ was always gonna fight Whyte, Eddy let it slip a couple months ago, it’s all good though it’s not a bad name but they should have been straight up with it from the start.
So you don't wanna see him fight Wilder/ T Fury then and would rather see him fight Pulev and Whyte instead? How exciting.
What are you talking about Povetkin for? What has he got to do with me saying the Whyte rematch is pointless?. You are always all over the place, seriously lol.
The WBO are on record saying Povetkin was gonna compete as their mandatory to Joshua. Then they bizarrely backtracked. You brought him up, claiming the WBO was going to enforce a rematch.
