I mean he was confident of his man beating Klitschko... Surely he may have a chance to beat a 38 year old who's best wins are an ancient Tony Thompson and Bryant Jennings.

Least the guy could attempt to do as he could give the boxing fans a good fight.

The Malik Scott fight does nothing for Ortiz anyway. It's a step back if anything.

Joshua isn't ranked in the WBA. What would be the point?

Ortiz got his contract so Hearns could keep him away from golden goose Joshua and probably make the fight later down the line when both have belts. What does he win putting them in together now? That would defeat the whole point.

Thats what is wrong with boxing these days. Cherry Garcia mentality.

All about that 0. No fights get made like that. The guys 38 and sooner or later he's gonna be shot to pieces. Then Joshua can come in KO him easily.

A belt, but to win that belt the sanctioning body must allow it to be put on the line.

Who cares about belts anymore. The titles were only legit when there was one belt.

    Thats what is killing boxing.

It's just a way of the ORGs trying to fleece out any money they can.

The WBA belt is a mickey mouse bum belt anyways.

The old Ruizs , Valuevs of this world fight for that bum belt.

Klitschko is just shot and would get koed that's why he made it difficult.

You can't unify the 3rd belt. You need at least a "regular" one for that.
then again, the WBA makes up their rules as they go along, so you never know.

Too many belts everyone is a world champion.

The heavies are such a letdown. 2017 hopefully is a better year.

Maybe Wilder will finally fight a ''name'' guy. Wilder vs Povetkin after he beats Stiverne would be nice.

    Parker vs Joshua. IBF

    Luis Ortiz vs Klitschko. WBA

Ortiz isn't ranked by the IBF so he can't. End thread.

He has to vacate because he hasn't defended it in 6 months.

What I suspect Hearn is going to do is let Kong (attempt to) fight his way to the WBA strap, then have his own "in house" HW unification between AJ and Kong, if they both continue to win. Putting them in together now makes no sense because Ortiz isn't even ranked by the IBF. Conversely, AJ isn't ranked by the WBA.
