Eddie took it too far imo. For 1, when has Eddie ever been and won a title to know what to do on fight day?! He's seen fighters do it, But never done it himself. Big big difference.. If he had advice for Allen he should have told him personally. He didn't need to do a video like that. Allen wasn't good enough, But c'mon, he had been through a fee weeks training camp. You guys think meeting fans really made that big of a difference? My first thoughts were Eddie being annoyed at how Allen isn't biased to Sky/matchroom and happily goes to Warren shows and isn't scared to say he doesn't think a matchroom fighter will win.
It was disappointing to see the shape Allen turned up in. It's hard to take him seriously. It also looks bad on Hearn which explains why he said what he did.
Allen is a sparring partner, with a sparring partner mentality. I have no idea, why Hearn decided to promote him and give him a chance to be the fighter instead of the losing opponent. His lack of professionalism show Hearn made a mistake, and I predict that Allen goes back to bums and being put up a level every now and then to pad someones record on the way up.
Hearn needs his neck reigned in he is well above his station, leave the coaching out and stick to setting up good fights !
It must be frustrating investing time and money in someone and they treat the whole thing casually. I'd be pissed off too
He has invested no time and money in Allen ! Hes a promoter for **** sake there the ****s who drain the money from the game !
Allen let himself down, a bit too happy go lucky, fought within himself and whilst he's no World beater there was more to give Saturday night. He has a decision to make here - is he just a tough guy or does he want to really dedicate himself and have a shot at overachieving.
If they weren't needed we wouldn't have them. Fighters are fighters not business men Look at eubank snr. Tried to do it all himself and it's a joke
I like Dave Allen, really hoped he'd pull it off last night but I think Hearn has some very valid points. He understands Allen has his issues and is attempting to turn things around, but he still has a way to go. He shouldn't be walking around doing meet and greets on fight night, if he wants to win titles he has to screw his professional head on.
"He didn't deserve it" well Eddie neither did some of your other fighters who should have clearly been disqualified. He's never took someone publicly to task like that I can remember who he promoted, he's singled Allen out because he can. The guys a compete bellend.
totally agree, my wife doesn't know much about boxing and even she commented as they stood in their corners 'doesn't look he spends much time in the gym does it' i personally don't think all heavyweights should look like aj or klit but he has saggier tits than the wife
