"I think the answer's probably yes," Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn told the Los Angeles Times Thursday when asked if a victorious Joshua will meet Wilder next. "There'll be too much pressure for that fight, not just from the fans, but from Anthony Joshua. People don't know him like I know him.

"Now we know Wilder has a big heart. The seventh round was incredible," Hearn said.

"You have to strike when the iron is hot and it doesn't get hotter than it is now for A.J. and Deontay," Espinoza said.

"We've done a lot of work building toward that fight, and you don't get a better storyline than these career storybook performances that have elevated the visibility of both in the last year."

As soon as Joshua-Parker is done, assuming Joshua wins, expect negotiations between Joshua-Wilder to heat right up.

I agree with Espinoza when he says: "You have to strike when the iron is hot and it doesn't get hotter than it is now."

It is easy to wait too long and overcook fights. This one is close enough to al dente right now.

Hearn says he was also happy to see Wilder's huge television rating for the fight with Ortiz - which generated a peak audience of 1.2 million viewers on Showtime - and their show was going head to head with a live HBO televised doubleheader.

"I was really pleased. He's becoming a bigger star now and that's what we want," Hearn said.

    That’s not exactly a change.

But he doesn’t have to worry about scorecards. This one has Brit Stoppage written all over it.

Parker has never been down. But you are right, this wouldn't be a good place for it to happen the first time.

"Deontay Wilder had a very exciting dust-up with Luis Ortiz," Eddie Hearn said. "It was easily the biggest test of Wilder's career and credit to him for coming through it".

"Joshua-Wilder is unquestionably the biggest fight in world boxing and anyone that knows me knows how much I would love to stage a fight like that," Hearn said.

"If AJ does the business in Cardiff, I believe there is every chance you will see Joshua-Wilder in 2018," said Hearn.

The pressure might be on Eddie because the price has gone up if he wants to make the fight with Wilder.

It is a mouth watering fight, both can win although I think Joshua is too good for Wilder. It's strange.. in isolation I would prefer Parker to beat AJ, that would however delay a AJ/Wilder fight till after the inevitable rematch. Kind of torn on this, I think AJ-Wilder is a better fight than Parker-Wilder.

A couple of reasons this fight makes sense for Joshua and Hearn now. If Wilder keeps winning and winning in entertaining fights then his potential split has to go up.

Secondly, although it was an entertaining fight, Wilder came through a scare and answered a couple of questions, there are still so many holes in his game, he was badly hurt and outboxed for large periods in that fight, in my opinion Wilder is there for the taking.

I still believe Wilder Prices himself out though, if he wanted 50/50 off the back of Stiverne II and was laughed at by anybody with a brain cell then what will he want after Ortiz?

Also the fight will have to be in the UK, although the TV numbers were good for Wilder in the US he still isn't filling huge arenas.

But like I've said before, this could all be irrelevant in a couple of weeks in Parker pulls of an upset.

I thought If povetkin beat price then he was Mando for Joshua ??

Personally I’d drop the belt and let povetkin fight for the vacant if the wilder fight is on offer ... much bigger fight
Or does a unification fight over rule the Mando so he’d be allowed an extension?? Think it’s the IBF

It's time to make it happen. Wilder has to give a little, and fight across the pound for the bigger paycheck/cut. I think if Joshua wins, he has a possible Fury fight in 2019 and even bigger money to be had.
