He's right. They're a waste of time. Hearn's no saint, but has a right to feel aggrieved here. He flew out to the States to engage in negotiations with Team Wilder only to be trolled, messed around, and sent home with nothing to show for it. Any negotiations with these jokers in the future need to be looked at very carefully. They simply can't be trusted.
Also @Saintpat anything to weigh into here regarding what Hearn has to say? I'd be interested to hear your take, given your background and experience.
Wilder's team are an incompetent joke who have protected him for most of his career THEN They nearly got him stuffed by Povetkin in Russia They nearly got him outboxed by a 50 year old drug cheat Now they ducked Hearn negotiations completely and just talk smack. They will probably fight Fury for half the money and get their heads boxed off. Team Wilder have 0 power...and now even less. Wilder has been horribly mis-managed. He is still an unknown will with a full KO record. How is that possible?!?!?!?!?!?!?! disgracefull marketing.
1. Wilder doesn't want to come ringside to AJ vs. Parker fight. 2. Wilder refuses to sit down with AJ's promoter to discuss fight. Wilder simply wants to fight Brezeale and wants no part of AJ.
He casually explained what every sane person thinks right now. You dont agree to deals you know nothing about, you don’t trust people who are all for it on media but refuse to talk to you personally.
WTF did they think they would achieve by it.....Look absolutely like rank amateurs Wilders outfit. Can come up with 50 mil guaranteed for Joshua but cant generate more than 2 mill for Deonkays biggest purse
I'd love Bellew to have a go at Wilder once he dispatches of that joker Haye. WBC CW champ vs WBC HW champ, a great sell, particularly as Bellew will be bringing the British money and interest. Plus they already have some beef, so there's that angle to play. I guarantee it won't be a mismatch either, though Wilder will think it is.
From now on Wilder and his opponents' purses will have to drastically increase, as will the scale of their events. PPV will need to come into play. That fifty million needs to be invested wisely to improve Wilder's marketability. They have the funds so now's the time to do it! Forget about that coward Joshua hiding out in the UK, focus that money into improving brand Wilder! Then, when they come to the negotiating table they won't need to accept peanuts from slimy slavemaster Hearn, or inundate him with generous offers that he so cheekily declines just to get him to the negotiating table. They can dictate terms on their own! Christ, I can't believe I just wrote all that tosh.
Well, he's publicly confronted Bellew, which is usually a sign that he isn't scared ****less of someone, so that's encouraging. Plus, in his own mind, Wilder probably thinks he's a huge colossus of a man that can squash the tubby midget Bellew with one flick of his god-like wrist, which again is a great sign that the fight can be made. There are levels of mismatches, and I think Bellew will be just mismatch enough for Wilder to take the bait.
I dont think anyone is scared but i do feel it is clear Wilders team never intended to fight Joshua next, but they did want to start building up the hype and its working, im am almost sure the Wilder vs Brezeale fight will now sell a lot more tickets and even the Joshua vs Povetkin fight will get a lot more views in America. Despise it all we want but i think this hype strategy is working, the key is if they know when to stop and do the fight before people get burned out.
If it would happen and Bellend somehow pulled it off, his picture should be placed in every dictionary next to the word “luck”. I don’t think he himself can believe how last few years of his career have unfolded.
