I can see this happening personally.

Barker has a KO loss to Martinez so won't be perceived as being overly dangerous, and more than likely won't break the bank.

Barker would have a bit of joy early but would eventually be broken down and stopped IMO.

Chavez wants it to happen in Mexico where Barker has no chance

Wich he probably won't. Barker would very probably be jr's 2nd best opponent to date if it would happen.

Bob has actually been on record recently saying Barker is one of the guys they're looking at.

What has probably happened here is that Top Rank have approached Eddie to, bit they might also have started talks with someone else as well.

    Not a good fight really.

Barker didn't do that bad against Martinez actually, but still somehow was disappointing I thought. A world title fight and I didn't get the impression that he came with enough desire.

I think he gets KO'd by Chavez Jr.

Poor Darren. I hope the money is good, at least.

According to Chavez himself, the one they really want is Macklin but "He's making it very difficult to negotiate" so Barker is the one they're looking at next and he wants it to be in Mexico city.

Macklin would probably commit against Chavez and as a consequence get brutalised whereas Darren would be more circumspect and merely get beaten up....A good opportunity for Barker either way

Two contenders fighting each other? I don't see what the problem is here.
I narrowly favour Chavez here but Barker should have the opportunity to give a good performance, improve his standing and make a bit of money. If he can't get the better of Jr who else at world class can he get the better of?

As much as I like Darren I think he gets knocked out here.
