Apparently Hearn threatened to knock him out yesterday on stage after Shalom made a joke. As much as Shalom is a wet wipe , funny how Hearn has never suggested this to Oscar or the American promoters he spent a few years trying to annoy. Guy is nearly 50 needs to tone it down a bit
Shalom continually contacting media outlets to get them to take interviews down by all accounts…. Watched Hearns interview with IFL today where he pulls them up about it Shalom is having a stinker
I'm not Hearns biggest fan but he is just having fun with Shalom and exposing him a bit on the big stage, essentially letting him know his place
I think Shalom is getting his return for getting fighters to try and leave their contracts etc early.
That interview - lol Tell me your triggered that boxxer are involved in Riyadh season without telling me your triggered that boxxer are involved in Riyadh season
I find it absolutely hilarious that the self proclaimed 'number 1 promoter in the world' who's had beef with ODH, Warren and Ellerbe, but never really lost his cool, is now completely wound up and full of hate with this 'nobody' Ben Shalom. How can you let someone who is so irrelevant and so many levels beneath you drive you this crazy?
Basically, deep down, Eddie is a mouthy bully. He's trying to make Ben Schlong do something silly and then turn around and say I was only winding him up. The worst kind of people in the world do this. Ben doesn't help himself. He should just ignore Eddie. Frank Warren is a tosser too. Sucking up to Eddie Hearn by joining him in the Ben Schlong games. I don't even rate Ben Schlong as a promoter however you can see what this prickk Hearn is doing. He's a nasty piece of shiit just like his old man. The arrogance of Hearn. He says whatever he feels like and insults every Tom, dick and Harry in the boxing business from top to bottom but the moment someone says to him, what you doing up on stage, he respond with, I'll knock you out. Haha.
This content is protected Even though Shalom has no charisma, it was pretty funny seeing him call Hearn an old man. Considering Hearn has always been banging on about how he's the 'new school' and calling people like Warren and Haymon dinasaurs in the past and the fact he's been tapping a certain Australian female boxer while getting his hair done in Turkey as a result of some mad midlife crisis makes it even funnier.
Whole situation is pretty tiresome isn't it? It's very possible that Shalom plays games, and has made big public claims of "we only want to make fights" while refusing to co-operate. Unfortunately for Matchroom, he'd have copied that from them. When you have the biggest broadcaster behind you, you'd be a fool not to try and turn things to your advantage. Hearn has come across as a bully this week. I thought the way IFL allowed / encouraged him to hijack Shalom's interview was pathetic. From a PR perspective, I would have thought the best thing Hearn could do would be to offer an olive branch. Acknowledge differences, suggest both sides have made mistakes, credit Riyadh Season for bringing them together and perhaps suggest they meet for lunch. Instead, Matchroom and Queensberry are resembling a cartel. If Shalom is indeed a sly man, then it's key for Hearn to gain the public moral high ground. Feels like Shalom has won that right now.
Shalom views Hearn as the new Frankie Warden and Frankie Warden the new Bob Arum - both will be seething.
To say Hearn constantly tells us how crap Shalom and Boxxer are, why does he get so wound up by him? Let me guess, if Shalom does or says something back Hearn will say it was only ‘banter’.
