The answer is neither, but have put on good shows and both put on horrible ones. I think ****** is doing a better job with a much smaller budget and exposure but he had the Sky money once and much like Hearn he got complacent.
Personally think the quality of boxing shows for both are well below what we had 5-10 years ago. Fish does not have enough fighters to justify a subscription for Boxnation and the single promoter deal on Sky has resulted in fortnightly canfests and mediocre domestic fights incredibly appearing on PPV such as Froch v Groves and Bellew v Clev. The only way to improve the current farce is for Sky to open up their dates for all promoters again. The competition would result in better fights being made similar to 5-10 years ago. It would also be better if the weekly Friday Fight Night slot returned as more people are likely to tune in. The Hull Card on Sat must have been well off the radar in terms of Sat evening entertainment. So in summary, Sky should welcome Fish back into the fold, Fish should bury Boxnation and all smaller promoters should be given a chance on Sky as well.
Hearn by miles, FW puts together consistently poor shows without the big name fighters, at least if Hearn puts on a poor show (Which he does) he has a big name which you get the pleasure of watching. I think both can improve quite considerably but Hearns shows, in my opinion, are much more watchable.
Yep, Friday Fight Nights were great an opportunity for the domestic guys coming through to get noticed there were alot better matches when all promoters were involved now it seems rare. I thought Boxnation was a great idea thinking it would replace the Friday Fight Nights with weekly live domestic action! not even close.
Would you rather watch pre or post Boxnation and Eddie solo Sky deal: Pre: Moore v Macklin, Burns v Martinez, Arthur v Gomez type fights were the norm with a few stinkers as well. Great nights that live long in the memory. Post: Joshua v Skelton, Skeete v Gavin and Bradley Saunders v Stephane Benito is the new norm with a few good fights appearing such as Saunders v Eubanks Jnr.
Personally I think Google Eye Ltd ruined Sky and terrestrial shows because of the **** he dished out. Greed took over and quality went. I don't think they would have him back whatever he brings to the table.
Yeah i agree Boxnation should be buried and it should go on sky BUT.... The time slot issue will be a problem if that happened. There's just not enough space for all the boxing which could be on offer to be on sky.
Hearn's production is miles ahead of Franks. The crowds are dead and almost silent on Frank's cards. People just love to hate Eddie at the moment and it cloud's their judgement. People saying it was better 5-10 years ago, do me a favour I mean really? If Eddie put on some of the old sky shows they used to he would have been crucified.
I've been to my fair share of both Hearn & F.W shows, no comparison. The production, set up etc of Hearn shows are light years ahead. However, in fairness to F.W you do get more 50/50 fights.
