So obviously Frank has had a few pops at Hearn lately due to scheduling clashes, Fury/Joshua/Wilder debacle, Frank saying that “if he was my son I’d give him a clip around the ear”. Now Eddie has fired back saying (something along the lines of) “looking at his financial accounts he probably wishes I was his son, he needs someone to get him out of that hole he’s in”. I think the back and forth is/will be great. These two trying to outdo each other can only lead to better shows for us?
I hope it leads to better shows, but I'm not convinced. I've said it before but some of Warren's recent matchmaking worries me as a fan. The matching Yarde so poorly. The apparent disbelief that Dubois v Gorman was an appropriate fight. It just seems so familiar to the overly cautious route taken by him for long stages of Calzaghe and Hatton's careers which, if we were being honest, led to a lot of boring, one sided fights. It seemed to take forever for Lacy and Tszyu to come around. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.
Warrington v Frampton. Fury v wilder. Frank is making decent fights. Yarde, is he been matched any worse than Conor Benn? Both men should of been brought along on the small halls, then given tv shows later in their careers but I suppose it could be argued that yarde brings something to the table for Frank in respect of his marketing. He even used to be in the maximuscle adverts as we went to the break on sky lol. Yarde must of been worth his weight in gold to Frank for that. He's also got the Adidas deal, which Frank will be getting a cut of no doubt. Conor altho it works to a lesser extent does bring his father's name with him. I think Eddie is more up for getting his fighters opportunitys and putting them in harder fights but that isn't necessarily good matchmaking. I think both promoters have their strengths and weaknesses. I think Frank is more the boxing man and Eddie is more about the £. But this game needs both.
Both of those fights are PPV fights. As for the rest of Warren's stable I think my concerns still stand. Yarde has had a lot of fights to be at the level he's at. Yes he had a limited amateur career but his opposition has been horrible.
Frank's got a show on this week. The first i heard of it was last night during the football. Granted his twitter account blocked me even though i never tweeted anything abusive whatsoever ( i even went back and looked to see what i said to trigger it!) but the two are just not comparable. Premier League v National league...south.
Frank is the man who deemed Audley v Rogan, Brook v Jennings and Khan v Prescott as being worthy of PPV.
Kugan knew where he wanted to go, I could feel him squirming behind the camera. He’ll look an idiot if he goes to the Sky show now haha... well played Frank.
Haha yup. Koogz is DESPERATE to be at that Chisora/Whyte card. More views, and AJ/Miller apparently ringside. He will have to come up with some excuse about being busy in London on the following Sunday, thus he cant travel up to Manchester.
Did you catch the part where Warren says they're looking at making the Fury Wilder rematch the same date as the Joshua Whyte show
