I use the taste card and gourmet society, so I always go for 50% off or 2 for 1 on courses.
That way you get double for what you pay - tend to avoid chains, mind.
In short: Bellew v Clev regardless of the undercard is like paying £16 for a starter rather than a main, when you can get a main for around 5 quid and it can be quality. Complete rip off.

I don't subscribe to sky sports. I did have Sky Sports 1 for a few years, but found anything I wanted to actually watch was rotated to either 2,3,4,5, (6,7, etc). Why? To rip you off into spending 60 odd quid a month on a bunch of channels when one should be enough.

In that sense I don't mind spending fifteen quid (three beers where I live) on the PPV. I don't know why everyone is so upset, it will be a good fight.

Because its not a ppv fight. No fights on the bill are world class except for maybe regale v bika. All ed has done is put his best fighters in against nobodies and he's telling us its a "mega card", which is absolute crap because its not much better than a standard night of boxing.

W.a.r.r.e.n has always been better than Hearn , not a massive frank fan but Hearn is amazingly slimy and in love with himself

I'd have more respect for him if he came out and said, listen the boxing fans have made their point I'm pulling this from PPV.

    We'd all respect that.

Sadly "cash is king" comes to mind. Money rules his motives, as it should in business HOWEVER sometimes goodwill if you like makes more business sense in the long run.

Keep your customers happy and they will return Mr Hearn.

But it's not all about 'world class' is it. Froch v Groves wasn't that either, but was definitely ppv.

15 quid seems reasonable to me to watch Cleverly and Bellew have a tear up. They don't like eachother much and someone might get spudded. I bet the undercard is ok too, so in that sense it's fifteen quid for an evenings entertainment.

Where I WOULD be pissed off is if I were Sky Sports subscriber. If you subscribe to sky sports you are already paying enough to expect a card like this to be free for you - it's not worth ADDITIONAL spend.

in fact, why can't sky show this for free to subscribers of sky sports and charge ppv for others who want to pay? Much fairer for these borderline 'event' cards.

that second part is a very good point and suggestion, can potentially see it working for big football matches too (ie non subscribers paying for a specific match)

They already do those Now TV Day Pass things which are crazily overpriced (£10 for a day of Sky Sports)

they did with prem plus when sky had all the PL footie, £40 for the season or £6 a game (had around 25 games on it from memory), only lasted a few years until they had to give up one of the packages

I remember that, but i think the deal was they had to show teams a certain number of times, I think a villa Charlton game was on there, which doesn't exactly set the pulses racing, (and I'm a villa fan)

the khan mcclosky fight was pulled off PPV in the week building up to the fight, so hopefully a similar thing will happen, but a few weeks earlier to save the costs of trying to build up this fight

Well the "salesman" persona certainly shone through in the video the OP is referring too.

Blatantly ignoring the customer in this instance.

The mask slipped for a moment Eddie.

His argument seems to be: "PPV was needed to put this card together".

    And I assume that's true.

But did anyone want the card in the first place?

You could just put the fighters on individually on regular Sky Sports.
