I'm not sure how Kovalev's supposed offer which was after Franks has any relevance to the topic. Interesting how you think Yarde hasn't got the right to fight for the British/Burton (which is ridiculous considering those fighters are basically domestic level and haven't beaten anybody of note themselves). Yet you mention Kovalev as if that wouldn't be a complete mismatch.

I would also be surprised if the offer was for higher then £100k sterling. Ward also retired in the next breath so I have trouble doubting that offer was concrete- probably just an enquiry.

Even if Yarde had fought and beaten Burton that doesn't guarantee a shot at Buglioni. Frank would be eligible for a volunatary and anybody with half a brain knows he would ask for one. You have only got to listen Don Charles recent ifl interview for clairification that they want nothing to do with Yarde.

A lot of people underestimate how good the amateurs are now.

High quality coaches, top quality sparring partners, tested v the best in various world championships and WSB

Some, not all, will only need a few fights and they'll adapt to the pro style and their skill set is already good enough

 

This. No headgear, more pro scoring with body punching & work rate seeming to count a bit more too now in the amateur scene. No need for these guys to be 15-0 against journeymen. 5-6 fights to work on things & build a following or interest & let them go. Commonwealth Titles should be achievable inside 10 fight for most of these guys.

It's fine for up & comers with no amateur or little experience but the rest should be moved quite fast. The next 12 months will tell us a lot about this batch of Olympians.
