I have nothing but admiration for Kell Brook. He did what no other 160 pounder has the stones to go Get in ring with Gennady Golovkin & give a damn good account of himself He is a FIGHTER !!!!
If he fights Spence he is a warrior in my book coz he just had a crazy tough fight with the middleweight king, I only made this thread to say that if this fight happens I was wrong about my other threads which I said he looks like his ducking Spence as a mandatory.
He is a fighter but I have mixed feelings about the GGG fight whilst it's great to see a talented fighter jump in with him, the size difference was too much and the fight was not competitive. Not to mention Brook really hurt his welterweight future by jumping up in weight in a huge way and getting smacked around by one of the biggest punchers in the sport. So whilst it shows Brook has a huge amount of heart and should get credit for even getting in that ring with GGG it also hurt his chances of being the welter weight king. I'm picking Spence to beat him now whereas before the GGG fight I would leaned to Brook.
Name me a Haymon welter who has been matched tough? Let's see if Spence (or his handlers) want this fight. If he does, let's see how much Haymon has in that war chest to win a purse bid. Like I said, Brook has fought Golovkin (and actually had a scrap with him) so he aint scared of Spence. I think it's an even fight, I would favour Brook as he is the sturdier of the 2 and has been hit back bit I think Haymon had assumed the belt would be vacant.
Porter just fought Thurman, felix Diaz vs Vasquez was a good match up, Perrella vs ugas, Jamal James vs Ugas, Garcia vs Thurman. What are you talking about lol Haymon matches his guys tough sometimes.
so u would have been cool with golovkin fighting a guy who has yet to beat a fighter beyond the british level? you were cool with him trying to make a fight with a guy like that?
true....but why is golovkin, a p4p rated fighter with nothing of note on his resume at age 34, trying to make a fight with a guy who has yet to beat anyone beyond the british level(golovkin fan words...not mine)?
calzaghe vs lacy 2? Which is which? I can't say either of them are as good as calzaghe was but I get what your saying but I don't see either of them being just a glorified brawler, they are both great technicians
Never said that, it's a good keep busy fight that is all. It's along the lines of Rodriguez, Smith....them type of fights.
ya...see...the problem with that is.....smith was a fight coming off a nearly two year layoff....its excusable.....that was a televised sparring session......but wheres golovkins froch fight? or kessler fight? where his kovalev fight?
