Hearn's matche with Donald's brother, Bruce?

Similar height, records (Though Donald had more power) and on/off performances.

    Thoughts?

Donald would have done slightly better than Bruce, but eventually, Hearns gets to him.

Bruce wasn't in his brother's class as a fighter.

It would be almost as valid to ask whether Hearns could do better than his lanky Kronk gym stablemate and "heir" Milton McCrory ! (In other words, a useless analogy)

When Don Curry was "on" he's capable of being a real threat to Hearns.

I'd favour Hearns because his power was off the scale, whereas Curry's was just on the top end of it, and Hearns was a freak super-sized welter with amazing skills. Curry was phenomenal too, but less extraordinary.

Hearns beat some great ones so he's got to be favoured here. I wouldn't write Curry off though, he was an amazing talent. It's worth remembering, for a while in the 80s more than a few people were saying he was better than Hearns or Hagler.

That's a nice summation of Curry. He looked awesome for a long enough stretch of time for me to think that there really was something to him. Maybe he's like a less dramatic version of Tyson, both were really on top of their game for a while but both dropped pretty dramatically. I think Curry was very close to the real deal at one time, but will certainly listen to an opposite viewpoint.

Bruce would fare much worse than his younger brother Donald, he would probably gets seven shades of **** kicked out of him, and he wouldn't even be live in this fight. Donald at least would be a live threat to Tommy.

I'd make the 84-85 Curry a live underdog against Tommy. If he caught Hearns with the same hook he caught McCrory with, Tommy woulda been in a world of ****.

I think more times then not however.... Hearns gets to Curry first. Hearns KO 5.

The time they thought he was better than Hearns or Hagler was in late 1985 after he knocked out McCrory. That only lasted a half a year. The difference between Tommy and Milton was that Milton had a 73 inch reach and Hearns a 78 inch reach and Hearns went for the knockout. Milton sat back and fought scared almost. Different mindset to Milton and Tommy and just Hearns was so much better. Hearns would have stopped Donald in probably 7 or 8. It would be interesting, but Hearns would win.

The thing with Curry is if he had a tigher chin, he could possibly score an upset over Tommy, but no matter how tight those skills are his chin will betray him quicker than Thomas' will. Hearns kayoes Curry in about seven rounds in a toss-up fight at the time of the kayo.
