Unlike a lot of people, I actually do think there’s a good chance the saline IV was used due to dehydration. One time they live streamed one of Mayweather’s full training sessions (sparring not included), and I watched it for about an hour straight. He basically went through various drills, pad work, bag work, ab and neck exercises, jump rope, etc for the full hour without hardly taking any breaks and barely drinking any water. This was years ago (don’t remember what fight he was training for, but it may have been Cotto) but I still remember thinking to myself “how is this guy not really dehydrated after all this?” Now obviously that doesn’t prove anything, but that always stuck with me, and then when the IV controversy came out, I had to give some credence to the idea that it was simply due to dehydration. I’m no huge Floyd fan either...I’ve got tons of respect for his boxing skills and accomplishments but I find him a little annoying on a personal level. So I’m just giving an honest, unbiased opinion here.
