Tommy Hearns is probably one of my all time favourite fighters. As hard as it is to pick a favourite out of Hagler, Leonard, Duran and him, Hearns will always be my choice.

That was the best ten seconds of fighting ever, that clinch, and that missed right hand, im wiping the tears away.

 

This fight was almost canceled last minute after Hearns brother was involved in a shooting at Tommy's home. Tommy's mother was beside herself and it was effecting Tommy greatly. Being a great pro, Tommy sucked it up and actually appeared to use it as additional motivation. Hearns deserved the decision.

 

Yeah he shot his girlfriend, crazy stuff.

 

haven't watched that fight for about 10 years but remember it like yesterday.

great last round from leonard, its what made ray so great, he could always fight back in times of adversity.

saying that, tommy won the fight for me by 1 point and thats coming from a big leonard fan.

 

The way that was going Leonard woulda KO13 Hearns again haha

 

The fifth is even better IMO.

 

Great fight of legends past their primes showing they still got fight in them. Leonard had Hearns in serious trouble, but Hearns was the clear winner in the rematch.

 

Hearns defiantely won the fight. If Leonard had scored 2 KD's in the fight, it wouldn't even be close. Typical pro Leonard scoring with the judges. Good fight though. Ray knew Tommy was the better man that night & that was all Tommy needed.
