Hearn's Matchroom Press Conference Format is Diabolical

    I used to love watching full pressers on IFL but have recently given up on Matchroom's ones with Hearn asking the questions. I can understand why he does it in order to control their comments and media profile but they need to revert to a format where the fighters just make a short statement and then the rest of it is questions from the media.

    Hearn's format leads to no real insight IMO. What do you guys think?

    Don't really enjoy pressers to be honest but I have seen some where it is purely media questions and they have been nothing short of car crashes really. I can see why Hearn does it for the reasons you say but it can make it dull though as their is no flexibility in the discussion.

    It should be half and half in my opinion. If you have a young prospect then Hearn should ask the questions but those above British level really should have no issue with questions from the media. Being comfortable in front of the camera is now vital in boxing.

    Frank's press conferences are far better in my opinion as the media usually ask questions from the off after a short statement from Frank.

    It gives the impression it is all rehe****d and contrived.F*uck,I could pass a test as a neurology surgeon if I had all the answers given to me in advance.Just stop it,Eddie and let the media grill these sh*t fests.You are not fooling anybody and you are not all that interesting to listen to.
