This Guy is the only guy ever to beat Hearns twice. The first was from a lucky punch from Barkley, because Hearns was clearly beating him. (Barkley you out hit the hitman that night). And of course the rematch some 5 years later. Hearns was clearly shot in that one,and Barkley could'nt knock him out.. So what do ya's think of a prime Hearns vs The Blade?:patsch Did Barkley just have the style to beat Hearns? Like Hearns did Duran? And Hagler did Hearns?

Hearns, by stoppage in four. Just watch the first fight, but without the huge haymaker by Barkley.
He didn't have Hearns number, he was getting absolutely hammered in the first fight until he landed that one in a million punch.

For years before Barkley-Hearns I, Hearns would wake up in cold sweats after dreaming about a scowling, never-say-die, former Black Spade from the Bronx. Barkley was Hearn's nightmare. Hagler beat Hearns because Hagler took the fight to him, put his chin on the line, and sought to penetrate Hearns' reach by any means necessary to tap Hearns' dentable chin. Hagler knew he wasn't outboxing Hearns, so he gambled. Barkley did the same thing -but he was bigger, at least as strong and hit at least as hard as Hagler...

The MW Hearns would always have a tough, tough time with Iran.

Was he shot? No! Hearns was about 28/29 in the first one and had just defeated Virgil Hill in an impressive showing before the second one!

Hearns was a tremendously exciting fighter and a great fighter but not an unbeatable fighter because of his chin and his stamina ... the Barkley fight , 1, exposed Tommy's chin just as the Hagler fight did .... Tommy did not take a great shot ... Hearn's was doing a number on Iran in the first fight, actually looking great before the ceiling fell on him ... it proved that Tommy's chin could always be a liability ... I do not remember the rematch as Hearn's being shot but that Hearn's again could not stand up to Iran's power and after getting flattened again in the fourth round fought a survival fight .... Iran may have had his number ...

Iran Barkley was more robust than Hearns ever was at this weight

Tommy Hearns spent to many years in sweat suits to compete with Barkley at middleweight and LHW

    i agree,

tommy has a great chance of beating barkley on any day, but he would have to fight so smart with very good endurance and his best ring generalship. because you never know with barkley, if you hurt hims he will take more chances and if you box then he will bring the fight to you.

i also agree with hearns being still a powerful force at lhw. tremendously great as he was at welter and junior middle, but deffinetley a world class fighter and champion in beating hill, something that i feel is almost as impressive is how he went up to cruiserweight and beat a pretty good fighter and former cruiserweight champion, nate miller.
