Welterweight has a stacked history, but I can't think of any welter I've seen with a deadlier punch than Tommy Hearns.
On film probably yes(judging "hardest hitting" is all subjective) Walcott unquestionably hit harder though.
Hearns then Tito. Hearns right hand and Titos left hook are forever going to be remembered as one of the best punches of all time.
Tommy for sure followed right by Tito. Ike Quartey wasnt a big puncher but he had a great "bazooka" jab.
Hearns was the hardest hitting welter. It's close with Jackson at 154, but I'd still go with Hearns. He's also up there with the hardest hitting middle weights, too. Dennis Andres also testified to Hearns power at 175.
Yes, indeed. Thomas Hitman Hearns was the most devastating puncher to fight at welterweight. He carried that same punch with him all the way up to cruiserweight.
Hearns was the biggest puncher ever at welter just like everybody else said. Tito, SRR, Pipino Cuevas are up their too. Also a guy who was not as big a puncher as those guy's but I would put as an honorable mention was Donald Curry. People don't look at Don as a hard puncher but he stopped Roger Stafford who was not chinny at all and the devestating way he KO'ed McCroy wasn't done by anybody else.
