Hearns over 12, Leonard 15. Like it'd be at any weight, any time. Leonard comes on too strong as Hearns tires, but loses rounds because he can't out-box Hearns due to that jab.
Hearns went 15 rounds against Benitez. I am not so sure stamina would be as big a problem at Hearns’ best weight.
Leonard only started pressuring Hearns after he hurt him in their first fight. I don’t see Leonard pressuring Hearns if he is not hurt. Hearns would control the pace of the fight.
On point G. The fight they had in 1989 was almost an exact replica (Other than Leonard getting knocked down twice) as their 1st in 81' Hearns dictated the early parts of the fight Leonard came on in the 2nd. If the 2nd fight was a 15rd' er Leonard wins by ko again. He had Hearns reeling and holding on for dear life in the 12th and final rd in that fight.
UD Hearns. The extra weight and experience at that weight means Hearns will last to 15 and win the decision.
I think Thomas Hearns would win a decision over Ray Leonard at 154. Hearns was a bit untested going into that mega fight. He made some mistakes before and during the fight. Coming in at 145lbs. During the fight not being able to tie up Ray, buy time even just to keep the pace where he wants it. I believe at 154 Hearns was stronger, more mature and ready to apply what he had learned in their first fight. Leonard probably knew it as well. Manny Steward knew it.
