Well, Judah hurt Cotto on a few occasions in their fight.

You´re right, but he wasn´t knocked down or really bad hurt, IMO he stunned him and let him feel his power. But to be honest, Mosley or Judah are guys at 147 lbs that have really serious power, they could have also hurt Hearns, you know what I mean?

Sure, but if Judah could do it i´m pretty sure Hearns can do it even better. But well, let´s wait and see where Cotto goes. I think he loses to Margarito but will bounce back very fast.

This is the first time we'll see Cotto stopped w/o getting cut (because it will be all over before Hearns had the chance to do so)

Yes, although, given Cotto's defensive abilities, he might last a bit longer before inevitably going down.

Cotto has not got a great defense at all, he has good fundamentals in terms of boxing form but he has always been more effective when applying educated pressure, at which he has been potentially the best in the world for a short period of time. When he boxes against good offensive fighters he gets done in, and it's ecause his defense is not that good (i'm being respectful there). Hearns would break him imo definitely.

People overrate Hearns in some areas, like his defense when it is truly needed, but you can't overrate Hearns in a match up like this. I'm not underrating Cotto, i know what his strengths are as i have already stated. He'd get broken in this one, if he doesn't get ko'd, he'd just go into retreat due to getting a shellacking.

I see Hearns by Knockout ...lata rounds tho as he would be forced to respect Cotto's angles and body punching power

Ummm........... no. Hearns would blitz him early and VERY easily. Aside from being a stylistic nightmare for Cotto, Tommy just plain and simple was a MUCH higher quality fighter. Its arguable if Cotto even beats Palimino. Cotto goes 3 rounds TOPS with Tommy!

What a strange thread to bump. Well, I suppose it shows the dangers of making picks where active fights are concerned. This fight used to be seen as a joke, now it's seen as a total joke.

I am a Hearns fan, so I am partial to Tommy, although I am a Cotto fan also. Cotto's style would be bad for Tommy. Tommy would hit him and knock him out in probably 2 rounds. And interesting fight would have been Vernon Forrest vs. Cotto, and I pick Vernon by 8 round knockout. Thing is we all know Cotto has given his all to boxing, but his record vs. good fighters is not great. He is a good fighter, but beating him is a good win, but not great anymore.

Hearns win by KO early. My guess the 2nd or 3rd round. Tommy demolished Duran and there is no way Duran has much trouble with Cotto. Hearns has way to much firepower for Cotto.
