I was watching the fight again and I heard Bernstein say "Hagler got his redemption for the loss to Duran"???

Hearns would have beaten Hagler only if he had come in healthy. Something was diffinitely wrong with Hearns. His legs were gone by the second round. I did view a show where SRL and Hearns were being interviewed and Hearns told everyone that he was hurt going into the fight. SRL was not shocked due to thinking something did not look right at the Hagler fight. When I mean Hearns could have beaten him, is that he could have worked the cut and the doctor would have ended the fight, but by looking at how Hearns legs looking like rubber it was not to be. Great, great fight. At 4:17, Berstein says the strangest qoute that I wrote above. Bored, did not know if anyone mentioned this in the past.

I guess he meant the criticism he got for underperforming against Duran, even though I thought he won clearly, much wider than the judges had it.

    I don't agree.

Now of course there's Manny Steward with the whole leg massage story, but I tend to take comments like that with a grain of salt. Hagler had the right game plan, fighting way more aggressive than usual and was all over Hearns, not allowing Hearns to use his range.

Hearns's legs did go spaghetti rather quickly though. After that short right hand late in the round, Hearns's legs were rubbery for the rest of the way.

What I am trying to say is that if it was true that Hearns had some type of injury, then it affected the fight. I mean, he went all out on the first round and he said in the interview that he had no choice due to his condition. As far as Hearns winning the fight, I meant if he was 100%, he could have worked the cut. That cut looked bad and it was early in the fight. That would have been his only means of winning. Hearns was jumping around in one instance and then the rubbery legs showed up in the third. Actually, the rubbery legs started in the second round.

hagler has GRANITE chin! I could count home many time Hearns hit him and yet he hardly backed out! Hearns hit hagler soooooooo many times and yet he was still standing. if not mistaken, hagler already got a cut above his eye as early as the 2nd round..

Hearns had a field day hitting Hagles face but no effect. When it was Haglers turn to hit Hearns! Ka-booom! Hearns went down! End of the story.

This is my ALL TIME favorite fight in boxing! Every round seems to be the last round. First to third round was all explosive round!!!! Nothing compares to this fight in my book!

Hagler has Granite chin and thats the reason why he broke his right hand. Its part of the game bro. And I guess he was bothered by Hagler's body shots which drained his strength and affected his movements

Something was definitely wrong with Hearns. That "something" being Hagler.
