Hearns by early KO, he's the one guy who can get to Jones chin, and i don't think Jones snake like abilities will overcome Hearns reach, speed and power to enable him to get in first. Hearns is hard for Jones stylistically. If either fighter had Monzon's chin it would be a no brainer.

I agree JT. Even when I was bigigng up Jones years ago, I always felt that Tommy has the perfect style to beat him. Still, Tommy's chin was a bit suspect at 160 so it's 50/50. Style wise, Tommy has all the tools.

I've always thought that Jones was a bad match up for Hearns.

At 160 Jones was one of the few with a clear speed advantage over Tommy and his power was also up there with Tommy's at middleweight.

But stylistically is where I see the problem lying for Tommy.Hearns aggressiveness would be his undoing against Roy as he'd stalk Roy and look to unload his big shots on him. This would suit Roy as his fantastic reflexes would allow him to avoid most of Tommy's heavy artillery all the while giving Roy plenty of opportunity's to counter punch.Hearns had a bad habit of dropping his left hand when unloading his right and I see Roy exploiting that by landing a lightning fast right hand and badly hurting Hearns.Roy was a great finisher when he wanted to be and I would expect he'd want to get someone dangerous as Tommy out of there quickly when the opportunity presented itself and I think he would do it.

    Jones by TKO in 6.

I would love to say Hearns- the one thing that has me thinking that is because Hearns would back Jones up. Jones doesnt really come forward unless he has you hurt

Jones. I expect Jones, with his accuracy, to tag Tommy before he's hit himself, He can move effectively with his feet like Leonard did in the first few rounds agains Tommy, and then base his offense around Hearns' jab.

I think Hearns would crush him.

I agree. Jones is deadly H2H at 160, but Hearns is one guy who would lay him out.

Hearns and Robinson are the only two i consistently pick over him at 160 due to stylistic reasons. Hearns is stated above and Robinson at his very best has the speed, power, chin and aggressiveness to eventually get him IMO. I think his sheer speed and skills might be too much for even Monzon and Hagler.

I've always thought Jones could beat Monzon, however I think Hagler could take him. Robinson, Hagler and Hearns... and for some reason I've always felt Basilio may beat him in a very tight one.
