Koizumi is my main man as well. Obviously he was right in there in the era I'm wiring about so I'm biased, but his vocabulary is astounding.

And Vano, don't worry. The fact he still hasn't acknowledged the 20 quid you sponsored him (which must be standard London sponsor rates as done here it's a fiver at most TWENTY QUID?! Are you mad man?!) shows he is pure evil.

I didn't sponsor you but I appreciated the flowers, unnecessary but thanks nonetheless they were lovely.

Renegade, you could acknowledge that perhaps there have been some crossed wires here.

Do you really think Dan would shaft up a good opportunity?

Yes, Koizumi is a legend. Not just for his writing, but in other boxing aspects as well. You might remember that he was in In-Jin Chi's corner for the Brodie fights over here.

Does he still have his articles published in the Ring mag? He first started writing for them in 1965!

Joe still manages fighters as well now if I'm not mistaken.

He's still listed as a CBZ contributor, not sure when the last time he was on there, but hopefully I'll have my next piece up soon ;-)

He was doing the Far Eastern (I think!) roundups when I first started buying The Ring in the early/ mid 80s.

Yep, he manages fighters and acts as a matchmaker on some cards.

Yeah, he does. I think his articles are duplicated and published via a few different outlets (including Boxing News, as already mentioned).

You can find all his articles of the past 15 years on his site:

    http://www.ring-japan.com/oriental.htm

I have some 60's Ring mags with his articles in - his writing style has not changed one bit :yep

Floyd has next to no chance of avoiding a destruction at the hands of Hearn. Floyd would talk about peds and say "we aint doing 50/50 baby, I'm the cash cow, I'm the uno, the creme de la creme" and avoid a fight with the hitman. He's smart enough to know he gets blown away otherwise.

"BOOOOM! BIG RIGHT HAND, BIG RIGHT HAND! FLOYD IS OUT! FLOYD IS OUT! SURELY HE'S NOT GETTING UP FROM THAT? SURELY JIM! IT'S OVER, THAT WAS A RIGHT HAND STRAIGHT FROM HELL JIM! STRAIGHT FROM HELL! LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, FLOYD MAYWEATHER HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT HERE"
