McCallum wins 10/10 styles make fight. It turns in to brawl McCallum can take Hearns' best shots but Hearns can't take McCallum's best shots.

Thomas Hearne simply CAN NOT RESIST BRAWLING.

He lost to the best he fought, though.

Duran. Benitez. Cuevas. Those 3 names are better then anyone on Mikes record.
    And Hearns KNOCKED Duran out.

It's a style thing. McCallum matches up to Hearns better than all three of those guys, so even if they are three stout scalps, it doesn't mean McCallum can't beat Hearns. And it doesn't matter that Mike didn't beat anyone, arguably as good as them. What matters is the x's and o's of this particular matchup. Duran and Cuevas were physically overmatched by Hearns. Benitez was slick and made Hearns miss, but he didn't move forward to take it to Hearns. His less than stellar chin may have made him wary of being too agressive. McCallum is not as slick as Benitez, but can move forward and take Hearn's best shots. Then he can work to wear Hearns down.

True, he seems to suddenly disintegrate when things start getting hot as they in in the Leonard and Haggler fights.
I think that his problem was his excessive reliance on intimidating via his punching power which made him forget his own chin vulnerability. Had he adopted the Vladimir Klitscho style, he would have probably been more successful.

Tommy was a guy who liked to put on a show. He had that in him. If he had the chance to shine regardless of being hit, he took the chance. Sort of another generation. He could have sat back like Klitchko, but I tell you what he will be remembered more than Klitchko.

You don't survive KRONK having a bad chin.
The only ones to stop HEARNS are better punchers then Mike.

Duran is a great name, but he wasn't great at 154. Good, but not great. Benitez was a top notch win, though, and Cuevas was hugely impressive in the way it happened.

But fact remains that he was KO'd by the best he fought. Not that it necessarily makes the difference for this match-up.

Duran fought at 154 as early as 1978.. he was young and still fought well, but the fact is he fought elite guys when he moved up.

Hearns had the abilty to outbox and outspeed McCallum. Only if Tommy adopts his Motor City Cobra style and forgets being The Hitman.

Yeah, before that he only fought bums like Sugar Ray Leonard.

You're a troll and this is the all the letters I'm going to waste on you, but Duran in 1984 was still a good fighter but no longer a great one. This is a fact to everyone who knows anything about boxing.

I think you are correct. Mc Callum is a disciplined boxer but not of the brawler type that gives Hearns fits.

he loved to brawl. but he also fought Hill with a fight plan. which he would need vs mike. and he would win I think easier than people think. Tommy is not great by mistake.

troll? anything to win an argument. I know the facts. He lost to all the elites he fought, and a troll is saying this? look it up. Duran was always Duran. He fought lesser guys when he was younger, so he looked great. He moved up an was demolished by Hearns who is not Leoanrd, if he could knock a guy out he would. Ray was great, but Hearns tested a guys chin big time and if they couldn't take it we found out. There was no play in Hearns and Duran found out very much.
