Hearns would win. The guys who beat Hearns were brawlers like Barkley and Hagler. Guys like Jones get beaten by Hearns. Look at the poll. It is even as of now. Hearns has 9 saying he will win and Jones 9. Hearns had a 78 inch reach and was quick and he is not beaten by boxers like Jones. I see Hearns knocking him out in 4

    Haglar brawler?,

He did brawl with Hearns thou, as the best way of beating him was knocking him out, as out boxing Hearns was not an opition.

Jones would not be wearing anybody down. Jones was bigger faster, less likley to be hurt, and had brutal one punch KO power.

Hearns was not exactly known for his ability to avoid big shots was he? Jones at MW was very tough to hit clean and showed no problem taking it when he did.

    Jones KO.

Hearns takes Jones out similar to how he took hill down. Hurt em early, they run & they can't outbox him from the outside, just ask Leonard.

This is a classic "good big guy vs good little guy" matchup. Jones has the edge because of his natural size and power advantage.

However, Tommy would be one of the very few boxers who could actually trouble, outbox, and decision Roy. IMO it won't last the twelve though, at some point Jones will realise he is behind on points and will go on the offensive, and at that point the fight will end within a few rounds in brutal fashion.

Wow this has 1/3 of the people picking Hearns over Jones, insane

    Lets see:

    POwer:Jones (by far)
    Speed: Jones (by far)
    Strength: Jones (by far)
    Defense: Jones
    Chin: Jones (yes even chin)
    Jab: Hearns

Hearns isn't that hard to hit and would get taken out earlyish, Jones is just so much stronger, faster, and far too hard and accurate a hitter for Hearns chin.

    Hearns UD.

Hearns could really box, despite being recognised mainly as a banger.

Not saying he could outbox Jones... but he wouldn't be stood on his head, and having the equaliser would put Roy on the back foot throughout.

How much have you seen of Jones to 160-168? He was a pure beast at the weight, look at what he did to Mallinga who deserves to be 3-0 against Benn and Eubanks, he was stopping contenders in 1 or 2 rounds that were going the full 12 with Julian Jackson, Toney, Eubanks, benn, all of which could bang at the weight

Remember Jones even at 175 when he went after someone they'd be in for a beating - see Montell, Hill
