http://www.nytimes.com/1990/02/22/s...-vs-tyson.html?scp=16&sq=Thomas Hearns&st=cse I've never heard this before so could you guys tell me if there was any real discussions going on back then, or was Tommy just talking out his ass?
he did have some fights at cruiser..im sure he would have loved it...lots of money...but it would have been a lose lose for tyson. Not that he would have lost..but he would have looked like a super dick head knocking out a old legend who weighed 147 pounds in his prime.
Hearns looked pretty stale at 168 against Mike Olijade in 1990.... Hearns would get iced by Tyson in 1990.... Thank Amon Ra that Hearns never got hit by Tyson in 1990...... Hearns would still be in a chair with a neck brace on here in 2010.... WORD! MR.BILL
Hearns had talked about fighting at cruiserwwight and someone asked him about HW. He said "yeah why not. someone has to beat Tyson". Me thinks he was joking
Knowing Hearns, he was not joking! That said, Alex Stewart would have KO'ed Hearns in 10 secs. To imagine what Tyson would do to this human being is ridiculous! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqMi97-U7VI[/ame] youtube.com/eslubin
:rofl:rofl:rofl video is funny-as-****. I hate Tyson - BUT no ****ing way is crusier 187LB [with weights in his shorts] Dempsey have teh power to knock-down 220lbs Tyson. atschatsch if he did - then 249LBs Lennox would of KTFO Tyson in 1 round.
Hearns would have been hurt in a big way. This is the sort of bout that the anti-boxing brigade would have been on about for months. Thank God it never happened.
Tyson could not have got down to 200lbs. Lightest he weighed as a Pro, I think, was 212/213lbs against Jose Ribalta! Not way he could lose another 12lbs - he was solid as a rock at that weight, no fat on him! However, whatever the case, I doubt the bout would have been sanctioned. Just goes to show that Hearns was crazy back then, too! Lol
Tyson beats ANY version of Foreman, including the version that murdered Frazier and Norton. No need to explain.
Hearns did say he wanted to fight Tyson, but said Mike would have to weigh in near 200 pounds, and not what he normally does. That is the only time I heard Tommy talk about catch weights. I do think Hearns would have lasted longer than Spinks. Tommy would not have backed up to the ropes that early and would have tried to land his right hand. But still, I think Mike's power on a smaller Tommy would have been too much. Mike tended to easily beat guys moving up in weight.
