    Great matchup.

I would favor Hearns with his jab and length, and because I don't think Whitaker hurts him.

Hearns, obviously. Pea was a great WW, but was at his best by far at LW, and is far outsized here. Hearns would be too much physically. It was pretty much impossible to outbox Hearns, you needed the power and strength to rough him up bad. Whitaker has what it takes to hang in there and bang in close quarters as longas he takes Hearns reach away(tying him up, fighting, dirty tactics) like he did early with Tito, but Tommy has too much skill and is too good and accurate a puncher to allow it to happen like Tito did early on. I could see Whitaker going the distance or being stopped late, but the bottom line is, Pea is a natural LW, and is far outsized here. Just the worst possible style matchup for any boxer between 147-154 is Hearns.

Indeed, too high a weight for Whitaker to cope with an opponent like Hearns.

Nightmare matchup for Whitaker. I'd go with a wide UD by Hearns with a knockdown or two along the way, or else a stoppage in the mid/late rounds.

Whitaker was a very good Welterweight. If anyone could outbox Hearns it would be Whitaker, but Whitaker was his best at 135-140. So I woulod have to favor Hearns because he was much stronger. It would probably end up looking a lot like Trinidad-Whitaker but it could end up looking like Whitaker-DLH.

Unbelievable. You think McGirt won, but you think Whitaker could outbox Hearns.

I said could not to be confused with would. Even though Mc Girt lost the rematch even on my card. Mc Girt did put Whitaker on his ass twice. (although one was ruled a slip) Speaking of Whitaker he actually thought that he beat Tito.:patsch
