I won't talk about the fight here except to say that Ricky fought the wrong fight and Floyd completely outclassed him. Maybe it would have been different if Ricky had fought differently and kept cool but anyway, Floyd beat him and did so in style. The point I want to make is that I was extrememly impressed by the way Floyd went up to Ricky after the decision. He knew how much that fight meant to Rick and he wanted to tell him that he did well. I have a lot of respect for Floyd after that. I really didn't like the man until last night but now I see him in a completely different light.
I agree, Floyd really impressed me last night. I loved the ring entrance and the post fight interview. Hatton definately fought the wrong fight. After watching the Castillo fight, I thought Hatton would get destroyed unless he incorporated more head movement and a jab. He only landed 11 jabs, and used hardly any head movement. He pretty much fought Floyd the same way he fought Castillo. I think Graham dropped the ball on this one.
I thought that Floyd showed alot of class post fight. Floyd even tried to clear the air with Merchant post fight but Larry was a real dick.
:thumbsup Good post, I agree. I hope we get to see Floyd's next fight on TV over here - that was the first time I've got to see him 'live'; it's different watching when you already know the result. He put on an impressive display.
Yeah, I totally believe now that Floyd plays a character and he does so perfectly. Last week I agreed with a few of you that he was bad for the sport but I actually think the opposite now.
