Not really, sorry. But i'm interested if there were a company that was going to develop a line of heavyweight action figures, which 8 fighters would you select to launch the line? Which fighters do you think would be easiest to market? Would you chance someone like Tyson in this cancel culture? Are there any heavyweights who would pass muster at all and drive sales?? Name your eight!
Licensing problems aside, you would probably first add some of the current day boxers to appeal to fans following boxing today so maybe Fury, Joshua and Wilder. Then the rest can be famous and enduring heavyweights from the past. I would say Ali, Frazier, Tyson, Marciano and Louis. If sales are good then you can gradually add other names.
Maybe not an heavyweight but think of this.. Henry Armstrong.. As a bendy character where you can stretch his arms!! Perfect. Stretch-Armstrong...?
Good Heavens Fergy! you’re going back a few years here, lol. I remember Stretch Armstrong, though I never owned one. I did have a hand me down Stretch Monster though.
Ooooo very good answer, obviously Morrison will have to go (not sure if you're joking??). I think Jack Johnson might work as a cause celebre? And I think I agree with you about Mike Tyson although there is a danger that it could all kick off if he's being directly "marketed to children". Then again he was in Crocodile Dundee III...all that stated, Monzon will probably make the Middleweight list so I think I'll go for: Mike Tyson Evander Holyfield Jack Johnson Anthony Joshua Tyson Fury Wladimir Klitschko Muhammad Ali George Foreman. George Foreman doll comes with removable hair/tache and a wee fake belly so you can do 90s Foreman too.
Tye Fields Butterbean Kimbo Slice Mike Tyson (best seller) Jim Corbett (them thongs will work for a (ahem) certain group) Joe Louis Mohammed Ali Two Ton Tony Galento
Lol. I know Ken, it's some years back now.! So you had the stretch monster Version? I had the pleasure of being bought the original one for Xmas I believe. It was robust but after me and the other kids had finished he looked knackered!. But good toys Ken.
As CEO of Heavyweight Action Figures™ i'm making this executive ruling: No Butterbean. Not now, not ever.
Heavies only Fury Joshua Tyson biting Holyfield's ear off combined action figure Ali Foreman The rest: Tua for NZ/Samoan/International fanbase Usyk- feel he'd be popular with women Wladamir- i dislike him but we need to sell action figures in Germany
