Pretty sure Derreck Chisora was half asleep when he fought Kabayel. No way in hell Kabayel is being avioded, hes just a no name on the world scene ATM. Should try to fight Duhuapas, Takam, Pulev, Kuzmin, someone good from the Euro scene to see where hes really at. I dont see him as a world contender, but rather solid Euro level. Kabayel vs Schwarz would be a good fight.

Chisora is a pretty poor barometer for any boxer to measure their level imo.

You never know what version is going to turn up.

Even against Takam, he looked uninterested until the fans started shouting his name and it lifted him. You could see it from his reaction in his corner, refusing to sit down, asking the crowd for more etc.

He had motivation against Vitali, where no one expected him to go 12.
He had motivation against Whyte....But I would argue that Whyte wasn't as well conditioned as he is now.

Motivation is a huge issue for Chisora.
A motivated Chisora is a seriously underestimated fighter.

I mean, others said it, high risk low reward. He arguably or at least officially beat a guy most people now regard in the top ten. But since he was viewed as shot at the time, Kayabel didn't get full credit; he's certainly not considered in the top ten himself, although maybe there is an argument he should be. And he's not a financial draw.

So a contender or up and coming prospect would look at fighting him, see a top tenish talent, but someone who they won't get top ten respect for beating. And maybe lose to a guy again not seen as a top ten talent. And they do all that for a shitty paycheck. So no, he's not going to be a popular choice as an opponent.

I think this guy is one to keep an eye on

I would like to see him against someone like big baby Miller and possibly Ortiz in the next three or four fights

Chisora didn't lose a round to Helenius.....One of the worst robberies, no scrap that, worst robbery i've witnessed.

But a Takam win is greater than anything Kabayel has.

Kabayel will not reach the level of Chisora, and will be lucky to get a title shot.

I don't think a lot of boxers are boxing fans. They probably have no idea who he is.
