Sad... Loren was a very accomplished amateur who fought Riddick Bowe and as a pro lost only twice in a highly respectful career.. Ross was shot multiple times... Same old horrible story..

I knew Loren when I lived in Nashville many years ago, around the time he was starting out his pro career. I knew Stan Allen, his manager, and went out to Vegas when Loren lost his first fight and was there in Birmingham when he lost his second (and last).

He was a cruiser trying to fight at heavyweight, all the skill in the world but apparenlty some demons too.

    RIP, Loren.

I too was at his first loss at Ballys when he got caught against Tony Willis... Loren was a smooth boxer who indeed was fighting amongst men too big for him... A brilliant amateur... Once saw a tape of him fighting Riddick Bowe at light heavy it was awesome... I had a friend similar from Baltimore called Jerry Ballard who too was killed outside a bar in 2001.. Carried demons, and always found trouble unfortunately, a shame, both men were lovely guys with hearts of gold..
