1) Joe Louis...most defenses vs All types,Best power combo puncher 2)Rocky Marciano/heart,stamina,Balls,power, defended vs the Best of ERA 3)Muhamad Ali/ fast combo puncher, beat Liston and Foreman 4)Jack Dempsey/short prime on top but was the first modern great 5)Joe Frazier/ Shortest prime ALi 1,but on that night a true great 6)George Foreman/young with flaws and no stamina/old with smarts 7)Lennox Lewis....great offense, Size 8)Joe Walcott/Gene Tunney/Spoilers with a pop 9)Jim Jeffries/Jack Johnson/great fighters of there day 10Max Baer/Mike Tyson/Evander Holyfield/they all had there moments 11)Larry Holmes/Max Schmeling/I dont know if they should be 10&10=11 12)Ezzard Charles/Sonny Liston/Charles had the skills heart/Sonny Power
is this based on accomplishments in the ring? if so i dont understand how you can put the likes of larry holmes and evander holyfield behind tunney
Errors are: Liston should be FAR higher Dempsey should be FAR lower Max Baer is should be lower Larry Holmes should be FAR higher Also sorry to be pedantic, but if you have more than one person in 8th that makes Jim Jeffries and Jack Johnson joint 10th and not 9th.
Tunney had a short career as a Heavy but his 2 wins over Dempsey, getting off the floor,Dempsey less than prime but close impress me. also he Ko'd Tom Heeney in 11 and Heeney had just drew with Jack Sharkey and Paolino Uzcudun who was coming off a 4th round Ko over Harry Wills, Sharkey was in his prime(right after his fight with Dempsey) and just after Sharkey battered Harry Wills all over the ring(DQ win) his wins over Risko,Levinsky,Tommy Gibbons,Jack Delany,Greb,Loughran were not really at Heavy but Tunney only title was Heavyweight and those men were fighting Heavyweights as well.. He had great hand speed and footspeed, compared to Ali and Patterson and his final record was 82-1-3 quite impressive. I like Johnson and Jeffries but as far as the oldtimers,Dempsey and Tunney were a new era.

Its a matter of opinion but I am very high on Marciano,His power, will to win, stamina, late power, I think Louis was the best, but I am high on Ali also, I just think Marciano had the style to beat him,Ali prime to prime lost to Frazier,I believe he would have a lot of trouble with Louis,Marciano and Dempsey, Ali was the master of beating the Big,Slow,Heavys because he beat Liston and Foreman but he was hurt by Doug Jones,Sonny Banks,Cooper, Joe Frazier was an ATG and he dropped Ali(no Shame) but I think Dempseys hook and Marciano's 2 fisted attack would be a problem for Ali and Louis(the combo master) would be also. Nothing is written in stone its just my opinion but Ali was great just not the greatest. Marciano beat some great fighters in Charles,Lastarza,Moore and Walcott and if you want to call them old watch ALI/Moore over7 years after Marciano/Moore, Archie was stopped but look at how many good shots(jabs, rights and hooks) he landed on Ali
Sorry, but i really cannot see how Tunney gets ranked anywhere near where you have him under any criteria.
