Sadly for Efe this cost him his 100% KO record.

He is obviously Intimidating 6 Fights 6 Tko's and 5 in the first round...Harper is ranked 48 in the World as a Heavyweight...think his career is now over.!!!

    Pretty wack.

I almost think a NC or TKO is more accurate or true though? Not sure. Certainly awkward as hell.

Not a bad asterisk to have though. The “walkout” will become part of his story that every commentator will talk about, and his promotional team can use it as a marketing tool.

It's not that unusual. Rigondeaux did it in December

Most likely Curtis Harper will wake up tomorrow morning and find himself ranked in the top 15 by the WBC.

I think it's good they gave him the win.

Not his fault the other guy walked (well, maybe it is, but you know what I mean).

That was dumb on his part. He was a sacrificial lamb. Should have just taken the dive and got paid. The first hard punch that lands, drop like a sack of potatoes.

I think it's pretty cool what he did, because let's be honest... guys put in a fight basically to lose aren't paid enough for that. Not when it's actual damage they will take.

These aren't fair fights most of the time, it'd be like Roger Federerer going down to the local Rec and playing some guys a few sets. Just in tennis you know, you don't get what could be permanent damage to your body.

I'd love to see boxing get away from the built up record of tomato cans, because honestly if you strip away the no hopers and tomato cans from most guys, they are honestly have 1/3rd of the fights they really have on their record.. we should reflect that more.

It's one thing MMA does better than boxing, the Win/Loss isn't as important to fans.

Maybe the guy laid some kind of Liston-like staredown on him that made him crap his pants or something. Does the guy get a KO for that?

This. Definitely a pe-arranged deal. Efe's managers most likely paid Harper more money to pull that stunt than he would've made going through with the fight.

James Tillis was known for making pre arrangements. Pay his price you get a nice and trouble free win, under pay him and he'd be ready to give you a long night. Tillis wanted $10k from Tyson, but was only offered $5k, which resulted in Tillis getting pissed and getting in excellent shape and giving Tyson a much tougher fight than he planned on.
