Yes, essentially, he was protesting the low pay he was receiving. More journeyman should do this, maybe the promoters (i.e., parasites) would give them what they deserve!

nice but maybe not, wilder would need to get into the ring in order to walk out of it.

I love when newbies believe they're going to "break" a scoop that you, @Chuck Norris or I (even as little time as I spend on both here & the boxing Twitter-sphere nowadays, I still occasionally manage to be first on something) haven't already covered.

Did this guy **** the bed and realise he was destined to a trip to the canvas or is this a case of a journey man fighting back against the system which has set him up to lose.

Curtis is now saying he never signed the fight contract, I don’t know if it’s true or not but I know he waited to the very last second to pull this stunt. His cornermen were very critical which tells me this wasn’t a joint protest between him and his team. I think Curtis has effectively ended his own career.

What do you think of this new development and the entire situation?

At first I thought it was **** the bed situation but it does look like it was some sort of kamikaze protest.

Apparently he was staging a protest of some kind regarding unfair negotations. :nusenuse: That is the story he gave.

You can never be too cynical when it comes to money and Occam's Razor would confirm this in this sport of punching for pay. If he wasn't in with a KO artist he may have ridden it out, but publicly beaten up AND not get paid for it* nah.

The maddest thing is he must be one of thousands of boxers who've have come to this realisation over the years pre-fight, yet he was the first who acted in this manner.

Resume-wise going forward, can't imagine it doing him any favours...

    * Paid to the degree he felt quantified probably taking a beating.

The thing is his team didn’t say anything about him not getting paid. That’s what makes not inclined to believe him, surely his team wanna get paid too and if they felt they weren’t gunna get paid they would side with him no?

Good point. He may have just have had some kind of meltdown, some people just do crazy **** when under pressure. That he walked out when he did does point to a protest of some degree I feel, get everyone set up then pull the rug from under them as opposed to pulling out a day or two before and replacements being found etc.

Yeah I think he obviously had this as a contingency plan, he saw Ajagba he saw the reach, the size and he thought screw this $6,000 will probably not even cover my hospital bill if I get a proper ass whooping here.

If something very shady is happening behind the scenes that is unjust for the brought in lambs I hope this will maybe expose some dirty business if there is any

my thinking is this amounts to **** and we never see Harper again unless he fills in as a late sub

really a shame since he took areola 8 and maybe could have taken this new guy a few rounds

I think to suggest he thought this through is giving him way more credit than he deserves. He was scared to death and panicked. After he made himself look like a fool he had to come up with something so he said it was over money. BS. The guy freaked out.
