    That is my intention.

I have all of matt d's rankings as well as enough old clippings to last a lifetime. I intend to do from sullivan to tunney as well as the notable coloured champions.

Once i've completed them i'll post all the results together in a new thread but until then i'll update them on here as I do them.

    Thank you.

Once i've completed the research i'll create a new thread. I still want to do from john l until gene as well as the great coloured champions. I'll keep updating on here until i've completed it.

I love this stuff. Been trying to get a list like this together for a while myself but hell, I'm barely even on the boards anymore. Great great work.

Also, I told you guys Ezzard Charles wuz 4 realz at Heavyweight.

    Thanks.

Mos def, couldn't believe his heavyweight resume considering what he'd already achieved at lower weights.

Not only Charles but also other lhws like Loughran, Moore, H. Johnson, they´ve got superb hw resumes with more 30+ fights and most of them at least against fringe contenders but never get taken seriously as hws. Sadly.

Even before then, guys like choynski and fitzsimmons.

There seems to be considerable number of light heavy's stepping up and beating a number of contenders losing only to the champ and the resume they amass gets overlooked.

When Choinsky was around the lhw division didn´t exist, he was a hw. Similar for Fitz but he was able to fight at the lhw division since it came into existence during the latter part of his career. But yeah, you are right. Those fighters are too often written of as "blown-up" lhws. :-(

Both began at middleweight from what I can gather and I imagine had the lhw division been created sooner they'd have campaigned there but obviously I can never prove that.

Yeah too often it does get said and it's disrespectful to the heavyweights of the day that got defeated by these so called lightheavyweights.

In their last meeting, I'd say Moore and H. Johnson was really fighting for the #1 Heavyweight spot despite RING still only ranking them as LHW. Between the two fo them they were coming off wins over every top contender in Valdez, Charles, Satterfield, Baker, and Maxim.

corbett pleasantly surprised me actually, i never realised how great he looked up until the fitz loss at age 31.

will have to seriously rethink my ranking of him

i'll be doing the legendary couloured champions next: wills, jeanette, mcvea and langford. This will take me quite a long time I imagine so I'll update it again on here once I've done.

Upon finalising these 4 I might make a new thread with all the results on it but I'm not too sure yet...
