Heavyweight Contender/Prospects and Pretenders

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by BoxingProphet1, Dec 5, 2015.

  1. I always thought Tyson Fury was undervalued as a heavyweight, I think it's because of his style of fighting and the fact that he generally looks awkward and uncoordinated. But make no mistake if Fury fought Klit 5 years ago the result would have been the same. I never really like Wlad, I always thought he was one dimensional and lucky to have reigned in an era of heavyweights that will go down as the worst era in boxing history. Fury has very good boxing skills and I thought he boxed the ears off of Klit. It's unfortunate for Fury that this new crop of heavyweights are looking to be the best since the 90s. Here is my list of best Heavyweight prospects/contenders

    1. Anthony Joshua
    2. Oscar Rivas
    3. Dillian Whyte
    4. Joseph Parker
    5. Izuagbe Ugonoh

Prospects that look like they can improve
    1. Gerald Washington (Fight with Mansour said a lot, he still needs a lot to learn but has the size and athleticism to improve)
    2. Amir Mansour (Solid fighter but I don't think he has the power to take it to the bigger guys, power can not be improved but I do think there are things he can do to improve and become a more viable contender)

Prospects that look very promising but still very early
    1. George Arias
    2. Trey Lippe Morrison
    3. Hemi Ahio

    Pretenders
    1. Andy Ruiz (He has good boxing skills but truth is he is more a journey man type fighter, not a champion.)
    2. Taishan Dong (Terrible fighter not even a gatekeeper just a big guy with some hype)

The 2 best fighters in the heavyweight division at the moment are Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder

Mark my words if Wilder and Povetkin fight, Wilder will annihilate Povetkin within 2 to 3 rounds. Breland should be trainer of the year as he has molded Wilder into something special. He is going to continue to improve and by the time he reaches Povetkin, it's lights out for the russian. Fury is severely underestimated, we should be giving credit where it's due, he beat Klitchko who not too long ago people were laughable calling the best heavyweight ever after his impressive performance vs Pulev, if the same Klit that showed up for Fury had Pulev in front of him, the result would have been the same, Wlad would have won in exactly the same fashion, Fury just took away Wlads defensive clutch and gave him angles and movement, it was that simple. Wlad was just extremely lucky that he reigned in the worst heavyweight division in history. But that time is thankfully over. Just remember in the 90s Wlad was knocked out by C level fighters like Purity and Sanders. In the 90s, Wlad was a D level fighter... the 2ks come around and there is a boxing drought, Wlad became superman because of awful competition.

Wilder vs Fury.... it's a tough one but I pick Wilder
after that whoever is heavyweight champ has their hands full because there is a lot of talent coming up.

I want to say, massive respect has to be given to Whyte and Joshua for facing each other, rarely do you see heavyweight prospects facing each other like this. Whoever loses that fight has nothing to be ashamed of and can still continue to move forward.

You try to make an educated post, and then you state that you pick Mr Ducker, the ex basketball player turned fraud Wilder to beat a man who beat Klitschko.

You really did lose me with that prediction.

Mr Ducker, has horrendous fundamentals and is only where he is because the WBC is open to being paid off and he is paying the WBC off.

    Thats it.

He is making a good living fighting non elite HW's and if the fans are stupid enough to pay to watch that rubbish then so be it.

  3. Wilder is a different type of fighter than the classic one, yes... he doesn't have fundamentals like classic fighters but I think he is the kind of talent that transcends that. He fights on another level. You will see what I say when he destroys Povetkin. There are certain great boxers in history that do not have the classic fundamentals as ordinary fighters but their abilities transcend that. I see that in Wilder.

I would love the see Wilder lose soon. The perfect dream combination to end Wilder's hype would be a Robert Helenius right hook to the body followed by a Wlad Klitschko left hook on the chin.

  5. I realize it is counter intuitive but yes, I think Wilder grew up in that fight with Duahpas. So yes I think he will take out Povetkin in fast order.

A lot of people are impressed with Povetkin's win over Perez, but you have to understand Perez never even wanted to be in that ring. He never recovered from the Magomed fight. He went into a depression and became unsure of himself and it was obvious in every fight after that incident.

Povetkin was beat down by a one dimensional overhyped robot in Klitschko... Povetkin is VASTLY overrated.

Please don't even mention Takam, Takam is a joke.

Well we certainly have more credibility than anyone who picked Klit. Fact is : I was really the only man who confidently picked Fury. And you don't seem to be able to cope with that loss damnit

People lold at my pick but it turns out I'm the only man who was right

This is why i always say - most people don't know nothing about no baxing

You are a broken clock. You've got more failed prediction threads than just about anyone on here you clown. Yeah you're the ONLY one who confidently picked Fury, get out of here you delusional clown. I know of people who bet big money on Fury, and talked for months about how he was going to win. No one on here takes anything you say seriously.

  10. I bet on Fury and made a grip of cash. I knew Fury would win.

If vCash actually mattered there would be loads of fight fans who frequented forums with a lot of cash in their pockets. Unfortunately it doesn't, and unfortunately for you we all remember the many failed predictions you've made over the years. A broken clock is about as right as you are MVC!
