Adamek, Arreola, Solis,Tua, Toney, Sam Peter...they should face at least one other contender before taking on the Klits. I am tired of those politics of promoters who just try to position their fighter for a big payday (Dan Goossen being a prime example of that). At least, James Toney wants to fight another contender, the likes of Adames and Arreola seemingly take on bums like Minto.

Arreola, Johnson were undefeated but had beaten NOBODY. They weren't ready and both got schooled by 38 year old Vitali.I don't want to see Solis-Austin as an eliminator, the winner is not ready for Vitali.

As this has been mentioned lots of times before...

The Klitschko's are great boxers....the problem is they are caught at the wrong place/the wrong time in history....there competion is just flat out horrendous....take the Klits out of the division....and you have a very competitive division....however, you might get stuck with a ruiz as being a major force in the division....that's how bad it is...

I'm a Haye fan, but after his lack-luster showing against valuev...he might be out of his league at HW...

Adamek does make the division a bit better...but hes limited as well...

It is the way it used to be done 10-15 years ago. I am not saying that they should ALL fight each other. But unlike Johnson and Arreola, you should get a decent win over a contender before taking on the Klits.

    I agree with you.

But I'm also realistic, there ain't no way these guys are gonna fight the majority of the other guys when a title shot comes anyway.

Take Solis for example, after Maskaev was knocked out,he is now the top WBC contender along with Ray Austin and will fight a eliminator with Austin to be deemed the mandatory challenger.
Why would he fight Tua or Arreola or anybody else?

In that case, being a Haye fan, you should have appreciated the way he won the title, Valuev was a potentially dangerous opponent for him, he was so big and had so much power he could have KO'd Haye. Haye fought a smart fight, didn't waste many punches, and played to his own strengths which are his speed and movement. I thought it was a very professional display from him, he did what he had to do to win that fight. He will be back to his normal all-action self against Ruiz in the new year, you can bet on that!!

    vs. Chagaev 12 rounds
    vs. Bergeron 12 rounds
    vs. Lyakovich 12 rounds
    vs. Ruiz 12 rounds (twice)
    vs. Holyfield 12 rounds
    vs. Donald 12 rounds

...and you say he has so much power? :huh

Yes, fair enough those results don't show he has KO power, however i've seen some of the KO wins in his career and of course he has power, but it would only be against slower less experienced opponents where he would show it, as fighters like the one's on your 'list' were too smart to get caught with any major punches!

The guy weighs 315 lbs, if he swings the big right hand up and at your chin and catches ya clean, its gonna KO ya, no two ways about it!

I think they need this rather than just out of the blue getting a title shot before proving themselves an operator at any sought of level.

He did not KO a single TOP boxer, just more or less dead meat. He surely has some pop in his fists due to his weight and size but he is just so fu**in slow that even Hayes "hayemakers" that the telegraphes about 5 minutes before look like lightspeed.

Valuev learned some boxing recently (good to see in the Lyakovich fight) but also lost much of his KO power by doing so.

I think Povetkin has fought the most prospects or at least opponents with an aspiration to fight for a heavyweight title. Povetkin has retained one-time Mike Tyson trainer and Cus D'amato protoge Teddy Atlas to train him. I've seen some interesting changes in Povetkin, looks like he's trying to develop a serious body attack, the left hook to the body. Against Nolan, Povetkin was bending his knees and getting some good power into his left hook to the body. Nolan vs Povetkin is worth the watch if you want to get an idea of how Povetkin is trying to up his game.

Povetkin and up to a certain degree Haye are the only two worthy challengers for the Klitschko brothers out there.

Solis and Boytsov are both very promising fighters with great potential, but they just dont deserve a shot at either Klitschko brother at this stage of their careers.
Come to think of it, if a limited ring clown like Johnson gets a shot at Vitaly, why not someone like Solis or Boytsov.

I re-watched Povetkin-Nolan. It's impressive to see how quickly he learned to throw the left hook with leverage behind it, getting a good bend in his legs, he's definitely added power to his punches. He was doubling and tripling the hook vs Nolan. Also, he caught Nolan with some sharp uppercuts. If you watch the Nolan fight and some old Tyson fights you can see that Povetkin is picking up some of Tyson's style, that old Cus D'amato peek-a-boo style. I guess that's how he intends on negating Vladimir Klitschko's height advantage. Good luck on avoiding Klitschko's jab.

I agree. The problem is that Solis-Austin should never be a final eleminator. Austin is not credible, he was knocked out by Wlad in two just two years ago and his record is unimpressive.
