You mean the rights after the first KD? I think Makhmudov is just going for the kill.

I have to disagree on speed. He is very slow on his feet and in defense. His punches are quicker than Joyce's though. But the main thing that keep me away from being overexcited about Makhmudov is that he wasn't in top-3 among Russian amateur heavyweight for a very, very long time. He was number 4 Russian heavyweight behind Omarov, Kuzmin and even Babanin (very short and fat guy). Not exactly the trio of monsters, yet Makhmodov was behind them.

I think though that his size, strength and power will lead him to top-10, but as for becoming a champion I highly doubt it. My favourite Russian heavyweight prospect is Evgeny Romanov. I think he is way more skilled than Makhmudov, but he is too short to compete in this era of giants on the top level.

He's a puncher, not a traditional boxer, like most punchers in the amateurs he didn't find his feet until later in his amateur career and will be much better suited to the pros. Not proclaiming him to be a world beater, he's still coming up and could be found out by a slick boxer or big puncher in the pros, who knows. But from all I've seen of him, this kid definitely passes the eye test. Big, very strong and immensely powerful, doubles up the right superbly, has a brutal uppercut and punches with mean intentions. He just blasted out Bergmann in a minute and sent Gibson to outer space with 4 monster uppercuts in 2 minutes, a guy who has never been stopped, he's making people stand up and take notice as someone on the rise. Not only that, but Makhmudov has marketability written all over him. Big, powerful, athletic, intimidating heavyweight, pleasant personality, can speak enough English, with an extremely crowd-pleasing style. With good management and continued progress in his skill set (id like to see him develop more effective jabs from range), Makhmudov is going to make a hell of a lot of money taking on the US and UK heavies and has the potential to become the face of Russian boxing if he can keep it together. Any promoter with half a brain has this guy on their future hit list. Back in action on 15/06. Will be watching for sure.

I'd like to see him against Joey Dawejko next. It would be a desent test. Or against Ytalo Perea.

Hahahahahah no no no, Dewejko is a very good and crafty spoiler who will make him look bad. Feed him Eric Molina for another thirst quenching knockout and a considerable step up.

He's a great puncher and if he has a chin to go with it, there's a chance that he can go all the way.
I'm rooting for the Makhman. Heavyweight can never have too many talents.

He has a creepy look for sure. Him, Hrgovic, Ajagba and Jalolov so far are showing great potential. I really hope after a few years that those 4 will be in top10.
