2014 seems to be getting off to a fast start in the big boy divison.

Jan 18th Mike Perez vs Carlos Takam
Jan 25th Bryant Jennings vs Artur Szpilka
    David Price vs Evenly Orlov
    Travis Kauffman vs Vincent Thompson

Mike Perez and Bryant Jennings are headed towards a showdown unless someone upsets the plans.

David Price takes first step in trying to salvage his career.

Travis Kauffman tries to climb up the ladder on the alphabets and become more than a fringe player.

    Any thoughts?
Add in the just signed Solis vs Thompson match for March and it's already becoming a very intriguing month for boxing's Glamour division.

Perez vrs. Takam has the makings of a good fight! Nice card that.

I favor Jennings vrs. Szpilka but Szpilka will make it entertaining while it lasts.

I agree with both accounts Ludwig. Perez and Tarkam is going to be fun fight not sure Tarkam at his age can hang but he will be game.

I also favor Jennings but as you said Szpilka is brawler and will make it exciting.

I expect Price to win handily and don't expect much from him this year other than to stay busy against no hopers and regain his confidence for a push next year. Hope he fights 5x.

I watched some fights of Mike Perez again, I believe he is the real deal. Hope he can surprise us again versus Takam.

There is also talk of Glazkov/Adamek taking place this March... Some good match ups are already official, promising year for the HW division :deal

I have not been impressed with Glazkov at all in the two matchups I've seen him in. I thought Scott was Robbed and think Adamek should, if he still has something in the tank, defeat him handily. Adamek really has one of the most impressive resumes in the sport. So many people vying for a shot a Wlad but Adamek might on merit be the most deserving.

Big difference between Takam and Mago though....

Takam should have a long reach advantage and be landing a lead R hand at will.

Perez took Magos power very well, but they were both fighting SP....Takam is orthodox and will be by far Perez's toughest fight to date.

Now, Perez is slick for a big man.....and Perez may counter Takam and make him look aweful, but Takam has the tools (minus speed) to win this fight.

If it goes the distance, it's gonna be a close fight.:think

Arreola vs Stiverne rematch will be another big fight.

Pulev and Wlad should dance later in the yr.

Wilder might step up, and even if he doesnt, he'll likely make 4 fights again.

Fury got jipped in the Haye sweepstakes, but he could get a fight with Adamek or get into the WBC title mix, maybe with an eliminator with Charr or DelBoy.

Helenius is supposed to be healing well and he should come back mid year.

A few prospects should have some notable fights, ie Joshua, Benejaru, Tereshkin, Martz, and Altunkaya if he moves up to HW.

Plenty to be stoked about, even if the lower divisions continue to be plagued with ducking, ie Mayflower, Quillin, Stevenson etc etc etc.:deal:deal:deal

Yes I must say this looks to be the most promising and exciting HW year in almost a decade. Finally HBO is televising some fights again in the division.

Arreola vs Stiverne will be a big fight and Pulev vs Klitshcko will be Wlad's toughest test since Haye (although I don't want to dismiss Povetkin)

Good. It's better for everyone if these contenders sort themselves out so fans know who the best, most deserving challengers are.

Szpilka vs. Jennings is the one I'm most looking forward to.

That has the chance to be a real barn burner while it lasts. This is all the opening month the first quarter of this year should be outstanding.

HBO needs to keep it up!

There are plenty of good match-ups to be made that don't have to involve Wlad.
