What's the division look like in 5-10 years time, based on the current crop coming through at heavyweight, or moving up from cruiserweight. Are we braced for another post 00's lull, or is there an exciting mix brewing? Champions and Top 5/10s welcome.

I don't see anyone currently coming through as good as peak Fury tbh, so in that sense we may be in for a slight lull.

Hrgovic is probably the closest to an 'heir apparent', who is very good but he's getting done by peak Fury and has a questionable mentality.

That said, as time goes on these guys are getting bigger, faster, smarter(?), have better PEDs, so rest assured better fighters will emerge than anyone in the current crop, sooner or later.

Not many changes. Hardly any intresting prospects, especially charismatic ones that can sell out stadiums. Current fighters get older. Some will obviously age, the childfree ones like Zhang, Joyce, Hrgovic will age better.

The current Top 10 will be active in this decade. Zhang probably not that long like the others, but AJ is only 33 for example, Fury 35.

I believe right now the top 5 of the Heavyweight division is stacked with talent. They just need to fight each other more often.

Ok, I guess the question should of just been... Who's the best guys coming through that will make an impact? What is Moses Itauma potential? Or is it just too early to make a call?

Hopefully they fight more quality opposition. It's seriously impossible to gauge these fighters when they are this inactive and cherrypicking. Massive respect for Joyce, especially if he comes back into the ring, because he made the heavyweight flourish.

If it weren't for the fact that he would beat me up like a mongrel pup, I'd spit into Wilder's face for holding the belt hostage this long. The man fought absolutely nobody, and I sincerely believe he would be found out ten times over if it weren't for the matchmaking. Say what you will about Joshua but he did take on Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, and the Old Man versions of the likes of Povetkin and Pulev. Leshen was in the ring with Ortiz who was chosen specifically because he was already old with suspect gas tank and chin.

Who of them will be around in 5 years though? Let alone 10 years? That's the question being raised here.

Fury won't. Wilder won't. Usyk won't. Ruiz won't. Joshua extremely unlikely to be.

5 years from now maybe. 10 years from now definitely not.

But I don’t think 10 years from now the Heavyweight division will be as stacked. There probably will be another big Eastern European dominating like Wlad Klitschko did.

A lot of people stroking Jalalov. He is big, southpaw, and can crack, but is basically a one-punch fighter, and is sure no defensive wizard. He will go as far as his chin and the straight-left take him.

I would say the current HW division started with Wilder beating Stiverne. So what has happened since then?

Wilder. Fury. Joshua. Usyk. Ruiz. Parker.
