How can anybody call the heavyweight division weak? The division is stacked 20 men deep with talent and its growing. It is probably so deep you clowns want to split it in 2 and create a 220lbs division and you would still call it weak!!!! Put it this way the best Cruiserweights would get drilled facing the likes of Fury, Wilder and AJ Even if they landed some hail mary, lotto winning punch, these big behemoths would get back up, shake off the cob webs and do some ass whipping. I have seen people comparing the Heavyweight division to the Middleweight division and I am sorry but the Heavyweight division is much, much deeper there is no comparison :bbb
Lots of talent but going nowhere fast. Fury- assuming he fights Klit in October, it will be almost a year between fights. Talks of retiring. Klit- same as above. Probably on his way out. Wilder- stated that he will not fight Povetkin despite the fact that Povetkin is cleared. Would rather fight blobfish Arrreola and search the infirmaries of America for cripples. Povetkin- willl not fight until he gets his shot, which will be never Joshua- joined the cripple of the month style of "champiohship" reign. Will probably fight lazy pig Stiverne next. Haye- after beating to bums, is now going to fight a 44 year old asthmatic. etc. Loads of talent, but these guys have no desire to fight each other.
Yep this. :deal The year started off really well with a ton of potentially good match ups but they haven't materialised for one reason or another. Only Parker really extended himself this year by stepping up and facing Takam, probably the best scalp this year for any heavyweight. But I'm hopeful next year will prove to be more fruitful. Fury should have assigned Wlad to retirement, Joshua and Wilder should hopefully unify, Parker will get his mandatory against the winner of Joshua/Wilder, leaving us with two top heavies to face off the following year for the undisputed title. The divison is in transition with nobody clearly looking like a future dominant champion but give it time and hopefully things will resolve itself.
The division is deep in the 2nd teir of fighters, but not many at the top. I couldn't even make a top 10 as the bottom 2 spots are open far as I'm concerned. But that next group of fighters there's 50 plus that would beat each other. There's potential for an undisputed champ in the near future, that makes it more exciting than most divisions. That said, heavyweights have lost some momentum, if Wilder/Pedetkin and Fury/Klitschko II had happened as scheduled it would have felt like progress right now towards an undisputed champ. I remain optimistic though. There's mainly one fight I want to see, Wilder/Joshua, hell, I'm hoping that'll be a trilogy.
This is why they have that division. It's a small budget division, if any of those guys could hang at Heavyweight, they would be there.
