    Always felt Tim did well against the taller fighters....

    Any examples on both sides that you would care to give? I have not heard or thought that before...but that does not mean you are not right. I am just curious what makes you draw that conclusion

    Pullen, Eklund, Gonzalez, Art Tucker, Broad... although these guys were no world beaters... I remember him losing to Bigfoot and just about crying as I knew Tim's career was not going to pan out as I had hoped.... oh I think Al Cole was another taller fighter along with the Truth

    Tim Witherspoon vs Mike Williams
    Not sure if it is a consensus with only 2 judges but that is what we have to work with lol. A shame because this is a fairly decent fight

    We agreed on
    Spoon 1-7-8-9-10
    Williams 3-5-6

    We split
    2/4 with you scoring 2 for Spoon and 4 for Williams me scoring 2 for Williams and 4 for Spoon leading to our verdicts of 96-94 Spoon on both cards!

    Witherspoon Cards
    @Pat M 96-94
    @PhillyPhan69 96-94

    Unfortunately, I've watched it recently and didn't write my card. I had it 97-95, or 5-3-2 in rounds for Spoon.

    I remember seeing a quote from Witherspoon somewhere saying that he had more issues with Williams' jab than he did Holmes'. He faced quite a few great jabbers at HW, so it's cool to see what he has to say about everything. I think he said that Pinklon's jab was harder than Larry's, but not as snappy- So I guess Thomas < Holmes < Williams in his own experience (just talking about jabs here).

    I also remember Carl buckling Witherspoon's knees either once or twice during the bout... Haven't watched it in a while, but I do think that Tim was a lot easier to nail hard than people might think. Snipes and Williams hurt him with a left hook and a left uppercut respectively, with both coming at the end of combinations. I think that it just took a level of surprise to make him really feel those hard punches.
