Make some noise for Kryzstof Wlod; WBC HW champion 2015! No, but seriously, Wlod. moves up and fights whoever the WBC tries to give the title to once Vitali retires (Stiverne/Arreola/Wilder/Fury/Haye, whoever) and Wlod. upsets them.
I think the 24 year old Andy Ruiz is the one Heavyweight that stands out for me at the moment. The big problem with him is obviously the weight, i was dissapointed he came in a few pounds heavier against Hamer then he did versus Hanks. If this guy can get his diet under control and lose 20lbs then there's no telling what he could achieve in boxing but the fact he's not willing to make sacrifices like cutting out all the junk food and beer he eats and drinks makes me question whether he is 100% dedicated to his career.
Ruiz jr is the only from that bunch from who I expect to do reasonably well in the future. Mike Perez should certainly have been on that list. And Pulev of course. Wilder will have big problems when finally stepping up. Jennings stuggled with Fedosov, wich showed he has a lot of work to do. Fury is extremely vulnerable for the overhand right and can't take it too. Szpilka lacks punch resistance. Hughie starts to look very basic when the meager opposition fights back. Joshua is just starting out, and looked very beatable in London. Kauffman is still bumbashing and got KO'd stepping up. Boytsov completely screwed up, and has shown a number of weaknesses.
I would also add a couple of other young Heavyweights to the list who may possibly make an impact. Joseph Parker - 21 years old - 7-0(6 ko's) http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=613846&cat=boxer Alexander Flores - 23 years old - 14-0(12 ko's) http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=534091&cat=boxer and one guy in his 40's who is finally getting some television exposure next week but has to take a massive step up in 2014 if he's going to make any impact at all. Amir Mansour - 41 years old - 19-0(15 ko's) http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=23704&cat=boxer
Personally I can't wait until the Klits retire, I'm no hater, I admire them and what they do, but when they're gone every heavyweight is gonna have a go and we're gonna have a whole load of entertaining 50/50 fights.
When the Klits finally retire, the ones taking over the division will be the young and exciting Holyfield and Rahman. Or not. Seriously, not much to look forward to.
Two cubans not called Solis Mike Perez and Luis Ortiz in top 10 With contenders with Pulev, Fury,Wilder,Povetkin, Stiverne, Jennings, Arreola, Ruiz
