----- 1) Jack Dempsey lost newspaper decisions against Jack Downey and Willie Meehan (twice). He was also knocked out by Fireman Jim Flynn. 2) George Foreman was defeated by Jimmy Young. 3) Mike Tyson was knocked out by James "Buster" Douglas. 4) Evander Holyfield was defeated by Michael Moorer. Some years later, by John Ruiz. 5) Lennox Lewis was knocked out by Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman. 6) Wladimir Klitschko was knocked out by Ross Purrity, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster. I guess you could also include 36 year old Muhammad Ali, who lost against 8-0 Leon Spinks.
Tyson was also knocked out by Brian McBride and Danny Williams - McBride probably being the weakest guy any of these champs have lost to (IMO).
Not a loss but a thorough boxing humiliation in Joe Louis vs Billy Conn I. Luckily Louis scored a come from behind knockout.
The only heavyweight greats i can think of that havent ever lost to a person below them in terams of resume are: Rocky Marciano (obvious reasons) Joe Frazier (2 Ali, 2 Foreman) Riddick Bowe (1 Holyfeild) Ingemar Johansson ( If you consider him a great he has his only 2 losses to Patterson) You could maybe say Gene Tunney with his only loss being to Greb and that fight wasnt at heavyweight, and Greb is a greater P4P fighter, but still Tunney only has 3 heavyweight fights.
