Heavyweight H2H: Order Fluctuations With Fading I thought it would be interesting to see how the order that the 12 heavyweight boxers from this predetermined selection are placed in by members fluctuates from their peaks to selected faded versions. Instructions: 1. Firstly rank the fighters in order of how you perceive their H2H ability in relation to each other at their respective peaks. 2. Then underneath, place them in the order of how you perceive their H2H ability in relation to each other in terms of selected faded versions. The Selection (Unordered) Joe Frazier (Peak: 1971) (Faded Version: 1973-Foreman I ) Sonny Liston (Peak: 1959) (Faded Version: 1964-Ali I ) Larry Holmes (Peak: 1981) (Faded Version: 1985-Spinks I ) Muhammad Ali (Peak: 1967) (Faded Version: 1971-Frazier I ) Evander Holyfield (h/w Peak: 1993) (Faded Version: 1995-Bowe III ) George Foreman (Peak: 1973) (Faded Version: 1977-Young) Riddick Bowe (Peak: 1992) (Faded Version: 1996-Golota I ) Mike Tyson (Peak: 1988 ) (Faded Version: 1990-Douglas) Lennox Lewis (Peak: 1997) (Faded Version: 2001-Rahman I ) Jack Dempsey (Peak: 1919) (Faded Version: 1926-Tunney I ) Rocky Marciano (Peak: 1952) (Faded Version: 1955-Moore) Joe Louis (Peak: 1938 ) (Faded version: 1947-Walcott I ) Notes: This is not intended to serve as a definitive list involving the best 12 heavyweights in H2H terms as opinions vary greatly and I want people to use these fighters for the purpose of this activity. I realise that there will be differing opinions about how faded each faded version is and I do not claim that they are equally faded. If you disagree with the peak year of a boxer, then write the year you believe they were best in next to their name in your peak ordering of them. Enjoy .:deal
As I noted the list includes the fighters that I felt like using, it is not a definitive list of the best 10. I suppose I could include more than 10 fighters, such as adding Rocky Marciano and Joe Louis, which faded versions of them do you think I should use?
I'd probably say the '47 version from Walcott I, as for Marciano I don't reallly know, I suppose if we are talking 'faded' with him it would have to be the oldest version of him we saw, so possibly from the Cockell or Moore fights.
A lot of rules , but i will have a stab at it. Not shure i agree with all of the dates for peak and faded but i will use yours here it goes. Peek. 1) Muhammad Ali 2)Lennox Lewis 3)Joe Louis 4)Mike Tyson 5)Larry Holmes 6)Evander Holyfield 7)George Foreman 8 )Riddick Bowe 9)Joe Frazier 10)Sonny Liston 11)Jack Dempsey 12)Rocky Marciano Faded. 1)Lennox Lewis 2) Larry Holmes 3)George Foreman 4)Muhammad Ali 5)Evander Holyfield 6) Rocky Marciano 7)Joe Louis 8 )Joe Frazier 9)Riddick Bowe 10) Jack Dempsey 11)Sonny Liston 12) Mike Tyson A little dissapointed Valuev isnt there but i do understand its hard to pick a faded patch for such a constantly superb fighter.
