Absolutely great you finally did something with all that stuff, not before time.

Feel free to pin it here after it's done its "run".

Anybody who's clicked on this, it's an hour, but just put it on in the background at the very least.

Nah, would be a good addition for a few years, awesome primer for the history of the division. I'm at the bit where he's talking about Bowe and how he was even more skilled than Lewis and how when he was talking to Holyfield about fighting Bowe he just didn't know what to tell him.

"Keep supporting boxing. It will be coming back."

Good words during the CV19 Lockdown. Even from beyond the grave.

Yeah, I was fortunate enough to have heard him tell that story a few times. The first interview I did with him (Aug 2009) I believe I had asked about his proudest moment as a trainer, and he went into some detail about training Holyfield for the Bowe rematch. And after that, he quickly snickered as he randomly concluded "And McCall over Lennox".

    thanks for posting this.

Very balanced and interesting takes on the champions.

The takes on the old champions were especially good. Johnson the man outside the ring. Dempsey as more a memorable folklore figure than a memorable boxer. His takes on Marciano and Liston seem right on.

Muchos Gracias for posting a great video n interview with Steward, Rummy.

I always loved how Manny described most heavyweights as weak minded bullies ( I had read Steward stating that before ) as there is a lot of truth in that statement. The sheer toughness and strength of mind that the best fighters, let alone heavyweights have has always been underrated by many fans.

    Cheers.
