Difference is, those 3 guys were worth watching as they were willing to fight the best of their era. Same can't be said for none of the big slobs running the roost today.

I agree, but I would say Usyk and Joshua have been actively trying to fight the best. Fury and Wilder, not so much.

But maybe we will finally get to see some of those big fights in Saudi in December. But again, Fury seems to be distancing himself from it already.

I have to agree that this era is nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. We have had some good heavyweight fights.

We'll see. Fury/Usyk retiring will create a power vacuum, and potentially a very wild and competitive landscape with lots of good fights.

This post is hilarious. Fury's only accomplishments involve ducking and cherry picking.

This era is definitely better than the Klitschko era. Those two stiff boring meat heads definitely played a role in nosediving the popularity of the sport in the U.S.

It's been an absolutely shite era.

Plenty of promise but the big fights just haven't materialised. Good riddance to this lot when they finally **** off. You won't be missed.

HW totally sucks right now. Most HWs ridiculously inactive. And spending more time whining about splits and who is the A side than actually fighting. It's pathetic.

    Heavyweight has never not sucked.

Don't get me wrong, there have been times when there's a handful of very talented guys, and when we the fans have been blessed by the boxing gods they've actually fought each other - often even in trilogies and round-robins.

As for depth? Division has never really had that. The fifteenth best heavyweight in the world has probably never been p4p top 50.

Very "top heavy", historically. But yes, on the horizon it looks like we won't even have the three or four big talents to carry it. Inbound era of mediocrity top to bottom.

In the UK we really don't have much. Dubois Wardley Clarke Fisher Harris and Adeleye next era in line....all of them a million miles away.
