But the rules said that if you're caught, you get NC'd. Toney lost his W fair and square by the rules of the era. It's no different from Dempsey getting to stand over Willard and whack him coming up in 1919, only to lose precious seconds trying to do the same thing against Tunney in 1927. If Toney wanted to avoid the hassle of beating the Drug Test Mini Game, he should have fought back in Foreman's era.
Hm well- not quite the knowledge at the very least I’m not sure about which EXACT PEDs they had. One only has to look at the size of the Mr Olympia’s getting progressively bigger to show advancements IMO. However I was implying that Toney would’ve just supplemented more training with more PEDshakes Lol
Probably would have helped to be able to do it openly, yeah. Also...were steroids even regulated in Foreman's era? They're stigmatized now, but if somebody like Ali or Norton was using them back then, *and they were totally legal*, I'd probably just give them credit for a clever use of medical science. No need to even get defensive about it.
Sponsors. They lose money with there rep. It’s why people like Dwayne Johnson try telling kids roids don’t work and all that. Also sh1t like “You cheated so you’re not really that good” ect.
No Sir. I am as obligated to disabuse people of this extremely cynical, evidence-free claim as the opposite-someone who believe that nobody who ever was not proven a drug cheat was ever guilty. Or how about assuming most who were convicted based upon false positives lol! Look many folks cheat. Also many people are over 6' 3", but a small percentage indeed. I do not know how many ever or often cheat, but neither do you-or anyone. We can list plenty of reasons people may do so-& others they may not want to or are deterred from doing so. But "extreme claims require extraordinary evidence". And there really is none showing if most or a significant minority use(d) PEDs.
Frank Bruno was never caught, Mike Tyson, Weaver, Norton, Evander never pissed hot ect ect ect. No testing no worries- They’d be stupid not to use the fact is they all did because it was easy to get, easy to use and had nothing but benefits in the short sighted future. Drugs have been big in sports since the late 60s.
